Realize your dream of a new home
Nearly 70 years old, Mrs. Pham Thi Lam of Binh Tuy village, Binh Giang commune (Thang Binh) has just got her own house. Mrs. Lam said that during the war years, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, she volunteered to join the revolution: carrying food, transporting ammunition, participating in opening roads for vehicles to the South, contributing to the victory in the spring of 1975. After the liberation day, she continued to work, contributing her youth to the great irrigation project of Phu Ninh, Cao Ngan Lake, ...
Returning to her hometown, she got married and settled down in Binh Tuy village, Binh Giang commune. Due to difficult circumstances, her family could not afford to build a solid house. Recently, her family received support to build a “Comradely Love” house, creating conditions for a stable life.
“Without the help from the “Comradely Love” house program supported by Vietinbank Quang Nam branch, the encouragement of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers (TNXP) of Binh Giang commune and the help of the members in donating land, building foundations, building houses, etc., my husband and I could not have built the house” - Ms. Lam shared.
Also in Binh Tuy village, in a house that still smells of new paint, Mrs. Tran Thi Lop (82 years old) was excited to receive support to build a spacious house. The house is more than 100 square meters wide, has 1 living room, 3 bedrooms, with a total construction cost of nearly 300 million VND. Of which, Vietinbank supported 70 million VND, the source of support for building a storm shelter was 10 million VND, the rest was borrowed by the family, and help from relatives and neighbors.
“Having a solid house makes me feel secure and no longer worried when storms come. Thanks to the “Comradely Love” housing program, I can have a stable home in my old age,” said Ms. Tran Thi Lop.

Flexible use of funding sources
Mr. Vo Thanh Xuan - Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Binh Giang Commune said that according to a survey, the locality currently has more than 100 people participating in Youth Volunteers during the periods of resistance war, building socialism, defending the Fatherland, and building the economy from 1975 to 1982. However, only about 40 people participate in the association's activities.
Recently, the commune had 2 members considered for support to build “Comradely Love” houses. “Most of our members are elderly with unstable incomes and economic difficulties. Therefore, in addition to encouraging families to boldly seize the opportunity to receive support, we also actively advise the Party Committee and local authorities to flexibly use additional resources to help members build houses.
In which, combining support sources for building storm-proof huts, mobilizing resources from benefactors inside and outside the commune, and members contributing labor, helping households build houses, ensuring the targets assigned by the district" - Mr. Vo Thanh Xuan said.
According to Mr. Le Vu Dung - Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Thang Binh district, in recent years, the Association of Former Youth Volunteers at all levels of the district has made efforts to effectively implement the emulation movement to build the "Fund of Comradeship" and the activity "For Comradeship" with the motto "Helping the needy, visiting the sick, visiting the dead, celebrating longevity".
Thereby reviving the sacred feelings, deepening the camaraderie, sharing social security policies in each cadre and member. However, the common point of the association today is that apart from the one-time regime according to regulations, former Youth Volunteers members have no other regimes, and due to economic difficulties, they have few conditions to rebuild or repair their houses.
“Notably, Vietinbank Quang Nam branch supported more than 1 billion VND to build 15 “Comradeship” houses (70 million VND/house). In particular, the flexible use of support sources from localities has contributed to helping disadvantaged members have more conditions to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
This is once again a source of encouragement for members to "contribute their efforts and money" to support their teammates in completing their dream homes and living in peace; at the same time, join hands in building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction" - Mr. Le Vu Dung said.
