On the afternoon of May 27, at Can Tho City Party Committee, a conference was held to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
Attending the event were Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City.

The conference announced the Politburo's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On behalf of the Politburo, Ms. Truong Thi Mai presented the decision to transfer Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu to take up the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee and presented flowers to congratulate him on his new position.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was born in 1976, from Binh Dinh province, with a master's degree in Educational Management, a bachelor's degree in Law, and a bachelor's degree in Administration. In January 2016, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was elected as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu previously served as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Secretary of District 2 Party Committee; Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and Secretary of District 5 Party Committee from May 2020 to January 2021.
From January 2021, he was appointed as Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. In June 2022, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
