Mr. Nguyen Van Bi: Striving to stabilize life

Understanding Mr. Bi's situation, in early 2024, the Women's Union of Phuoc Long town connected to support 25 million VND to help him implement the gray oyster mushroom growing model. The mushroom growing model is very easy to implement, does not require much effort to care for, both generates income and is suitable for Mr. Bi's health condition. After more than 1 month of planting, it can be harvested and every 15 days the next batch of mushrooms will be harvested. On average, each batch he harvests from 50 - 150kg of mushrooms, with a selling price of 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg.

Not only creating conditions to help Mr. Bi have a livelihood model to generate stable income, in early 2025, implementing the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", Phuoc Long town considered and supported him with a charity house from the support source of the Ministry of Public Security. With the support of working days from union officials, local police forces and relatives, in a short time, the solid house was completed, replacing the dilapidated house that had been degraded for many years.

“Due to health problems, I could no longer do heavy labor to support myself. I thought my life would be at a dead end, with no way out, but thanks to the support of associations, unions, and local authorities, it not only helped me create a stable income but also helped me have a solid house like today.”

From the “fishing rod” given by the government, with the determination to overcome difficulties, strive to improve life to become more and more stable. From there, contribute to the locality to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction work.
