On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), Kim Dong Publishing House launched the book "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army Team" by Colonel, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Manh Ha, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute.

This book was briefly rewritten by author Nguyen Manh Ha and supplemented with content from the book "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army Team" by the group of authors: Trinh Vuong Hong, Nguyen Manh Ha, Tran Ngoc Long, Chu Van Tung, Phan Sy Phuc of the Vietnam Military History Institute, Ministry of National Defense (People's Army Publishing House, 2004).

The book is divided into two parts: The birth and operation of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army; A brief account of the organizer and 34 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army.

The historic moment of a winter evening, December 22, 1944, in the middle of the old forest of Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Binh, Cao Bang, 34 officers and soldiers took a sacred oath to fight and sacrifice for independence, freedom, for a lasting country... The Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the predecessor of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, was born like that.

According to author Nguyen Manh Ha, in 1992, the Vietnam Liberation Army Liaison Committee organized research, collection, verification, and made a list of Teams.

Based on veteran revolutionary cadres, witnesses and living team members, with the method of synthesis and comparison, a list was made of up to... 74 people.

“This error is understandable because the information is based on each person's memory. The team members met each other in secret operations, lived and fought together in the unit for a while, then had to disperse to operate in other units and locations,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha.

After three seminars held in Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen and Hanoi, along with further research and investigation, on November 2, 1994, a list of 34 team members was determined and submitted to General Vo Nguyen Giap for approval in time to have their names engraved on a stele placed in the Tran Hung Dao Forest Relic Site, Nguyen Binh District, Cao Bang Province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1994).

However, when the name inscription was completed, there were also some suggestions for editing and supplementing. Therefore, the verification and correction of information about the team members continued from April 2000 to March 2003 to obtain the current list. Author Nguyen Manh Ha is the person in charge of the Verification Team.

The book is a tribute to the 34 members of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army and General Vo Nguyen Giap. Right after the historic day of December 22, 1944, 34 members of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army fought, contributing their efforts and blood to the cause of national liberation.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, the book "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army" is written clearly, scientifically, concisely, simply and emotionally, not only suitable for young readers but also for those who want to learn about the history of the Vietnamese army and modern Vietnamese history.

Readers will find a lot of documents and information as well as learn the author's serious and careful way of working on historical and human issues./.

Also on this occasion, Kim Dong Publishing House republished the book “The Tay Tien Army” (The Lao-Vietnamese Border Propaganda Armed Forces) by poet Quang Dung - a publication awarded the A Prize of the 2020 National Book Award. After nearly 70 years, the memoirs of poet-soldier Quang Dung about the Tay Tien Army in the past have become invaluable literary and historical documents, contributing to the country's resistance literature and art heritage.
