On March 31, the Ministry of Finance informed that there are currently people impersonating a Facebook page called "Receiving, Processing, Recovering and Refunding Suspended Capital" using the Ministry's images and information. It is noteworthy that this page has been verified by Facebook (with a blue tick).
The Ministry of Finance also warned that the content of posts and comments on the page had many suspicious signs. Specifically, this page claimed to represent the Ministry of Finance and provided information that it could help "recover money" for victims of online fraud. This page asked people to send messages to provide personal information and transfer a "fee" or "processing cost" to receive the lost money. However, after receiving the money, this page did not perform any support or contact to resolve the issue.
The Ministry of Finance affirms that the Facebook page "Receiving, Processing, and Refunding Suspended Capital" (or similar) is fake.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance recommends that people and businesses be highly vigilant and not follow the instructions from information and posts on the above Facebook page to avoid being scammed by bad guys. When people detect signs of fraud, they should report it to the authorities to avoid unfortunate losses./.
