By March 31, Mytel - Viettel's brand in Myanmar, had basically restored the network in Mandalay and Naypyitaw provinces, two cities severely affected by the earthquake on March 28, ensuring communication for people and rescue and disaster response work.
According to Viettel, when rescue teams from many countries including Vietnam arrived in Myanmar to support the government and people, Viettel Myanmar quickly restored communication and issued nearly 1,000 SIM cards to rescue teams, deployed 5 mobile stations, and adjusted the coverage of 46 BTS stations to serve the Field Hospital and search and rescue teams in Mandalay and Naypitaw.

For the Vietnamese rescue team in the capital Naypitaw, Viettel Myanmar coordinated to provide mobile broadcasting vehicles and forces to participate in the earthquake recovery activities.
By March 31, Viettel Myanmar had restored 70% of mobile communications in Mandalay and 65% in Naypitaw, while international connections had been restored to 100%, basically ensuring smooth communications in Myanmar.
Due to the impact of the earthquake, many districts were isolated, roads were severely eroded, and traffic congestion affected the progress of network restoration.
In addition to the essential supplies deployed since March 28, Viettel Myanmar continues to expand the number of battery charging support points to nearly 500 points, providing 5 tons of food and clean water to the victims of the earthquake. At the same time, it also provides 20,000 SIM cards and 100 wifi stations for people to communicate.
Accompanying the forces of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, Viettel Myanmar continues to deploy timely actions to support the government and people of Myanmar to overcome difficulties and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Operating in 10 international markets, many of which are facing natural disasters and riots, Viettel Group members have extensive experience in handling situations and overcoming damage during disasters.
The 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck at noon on March 28, 2025, with its epicenter located at a depth of 10 km and about 16 km northwest of Sagaing city in central Myanmar, devastating many areas in Myanmar and Thailand. The tremors were even felt in Vietnam and China./.
