Technology application and production linkage
From 2021 to 2024, Nui Thanh district will have 30 agricultural cooperatives and 1 newly established cooperative union. To date, the district has 55 active agricultural cooperatives.
In fact, many agricultural cooperatives in the district have applied high technology in production and processing, helping to increase productivity, product quality, and business efficiency has also been significantly improved.
Typically, Hoang Hai Tam Quang Agricultural Cooperative, Tam Anh Nam Agricultural - Service Cooperative, UN Farm Cooperative... have initially applied high technology in production effectively.
In addition, many cooperatives also use scientific and technical equipment, integrate scientific processes, automation, and mechanization into production and processing processes, improving productivity and quality of agricultural products such as Trung Hoa Phat Cooperative, Trung Hai Agricultural - Fishery Cooperative, Nui Thanh Agricultural - Fishery Cooperative, etc.
In addition, the district currently has 15 agricultural cooperatives operating in association with production and consumption of rice seeds. Typical examples include Thach Bich Agricultural Cooperative, An Phu Agricultural Cooperative, Phu Dong Agricultural Cooperative, etc.
Newly established cooperatives in the district have participated in product consumption linkages such as "Tam My glutinous rice" of Tam My Tay Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative; mushroom consumption linkage at Hoang Hai Tam Quang Agricultural Cooperative; Duc Phu tea product consumption linkage of Duc Phu Tam Son Tea Cooperative...
Many agricultural cooperatives collect agricultural by-products such as mushroom spawn, straw, peanut oil residue, etc. to apply technology to process and recycle them into fertilizer products, creating higher added value for agricultural production, initially creating a premise for a circular economy applying science and technology in the district. Typical examples include Hoang Hai Tam Quang Agricultural Cooperative; Tam Xuan General Agricultural Cooperative; Ky Anh Green Agricultural Cooperative, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nui Thanh district said: "Currently, the legal framework has more clearly defined the responsibilities of state agencies in the management of cooperatives; the legal corridor for cooperatives is increasingly being improved.
Thereby creating conditions for the development of many new cooperatives, the production and business activities of cooperatives are increasingly expanded. In addition, many policies and mechanisms, different capital sources have been paid attention by the State to support the activities of cooperatives and cooperative groups to promote production and business.
Synchronize solutions for development
Besides the achievements, the current basic problems of agricultural cooperatives are small scale, lack of capital, weak internal capacity; low staff qualifications and especially the benefits in production and life for members are not many.
Essential service stages, especially for households in need such as organizing product consumption, preserving and processing agricultural products and food, providing credit... most cooperatives do not have enough capacity to perform.
According to Mr. Ngo Duc An - Vice Chairman of Nui Thanh District People's Committee, in the coming time, the locality will implement many solutions to remove difficulties for the development of cooperative economy and cooperatives. The District People's Committee will continue to direct and guide the work of preparing dossiers and procedures for requesting the establishment, organization and operation of cooperatives according to the Law on Cooperatives 2023.
The People's Committees of communes and towns assign staff and develop procedures to manage and monitor the activities of cooperatives and cooperative groups in the area.
Thereby, creating better conditions for consulting on mechanisms, policies and management for cooperatives and cooperative groups. The Department of Finance - Planning and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development strengthen coordination in the process of establishing and operating cooperatives and cooperative groups in the district.
Nui Thanh will continue to build and replicate high-tech application models in agricultural cooperative production in different production and business fields.
Develop new high-tech agricultural cooperatives, participate in linking production and consumption of agricultural products, and support the development of value chain linkages for key local agricultural products.
At the same time, build circular economic chains, recycle and reuse by-products and waste from farming, livestock, and organic waste for reuse in agriculture, contributing to environmental protection and combating climate change.
“In the coming time, the locality proposes and recommends that the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches of the province pay attention to directing and creating more mechanisms, policies, and budget sources to support the activities of cooperatives.
There needs to be better coordination between the Provincial Rural Development Department, the Provincial Cooperative Union and the District People's Committee in the process of supporting cooperatives and cooperative groups to exchange and grasp information in a more complete two-way manner. At the same time, create conditions for cooperatives to access credit capital from the Provincial Cooperative Union, because currently this capital source is abundant but cooperatives and cooperative groups find it difficult to access" - Mr. An said.
