“When I received the gift from Mr. Tan (Phan Van Tan, Head of Dak R'lap Department of Education and Training), I couldn't believe that after 2 months, the Minister still remembered and cared about me like that. For nearly a week now, I have been reading and re-reading the letter to better understand the Minister's instructions. I am very touched and honored by this,” Bao Thuc expressed.

Teacher Nguyen Huu Nam (father of Nguyen Tran Bao Thuc) said that he is the second child in the family. Bao Thuc's older brother is studying in grade 11 at Nguyen Chi Thanh High School for the Gifted (Dak Nong).

“My wife and I have been teaching for over 20 years but have never met the Minister of Education and Training. That alone is enough to show how happy and proud my daughter is,” Mr. Nam said emotionally.

Also according to Mr. Nam, on the morning of November 20, Mr. Phan Van Tan, Head of the Department of Education and Training, personally came to the school to attend the discussion and give letters and gifts to the child.

“This whole week, my child has been very happy, from studying to housework, he has been more proactive than before. He always tells his parents that the letter and surprise gift from Minister Nguyen Kim Son is an honor in his life, and also a motivation for him to try harder in studying and training. He must try his best not to let down the Minister, teachers, and family,” Mr. Nam confided.

At the same time, he affirmed: “The fact that the Minister took the time to write a handwritten letter to a student in a remote area like Bao Thuc is extremely valuable. It shows the Minister's concern for education, especially in difficult areas. This will be a great source of inspiration for families as well as teachers and students in remote areas to strive to overcome difficulties to teach well and study well.”

Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary School, recalled: “When Bao Thuc received the gift, everyone was surprised, touched and moved to tears. No one thought that the Minister would have time to write a handwritten letter to a student in a remote area.”

According to Ms. Hien, teachers consider each line of the Minister's words as a reminder for each person to try harder in their career of educating people. At the same time, they launched a movement for students to compete to follow Bao Thuc's example to spread more examples of perseverance in studying and training.

Previously, on the morning of November 20, receiving a mission from the Department of Education and Training, Mr. Phan Van Tan, Head of the Dak R'lap Department of Education and Training, went to the school to deliver a handwritten letter and gift from Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son to Nguyen Tran Bao Thuc, class 8A5, Luong The Vinh Secondary School.

In the letter, the Minister expressed his impression of Bao Thuc's answer at the mock session of the "Children's National Assembly". The Minister sent words of encouragement and motivation to the child to continue nurturing his dream and constantly strive to study.

“You have had very correct thoughts and feelings about the decisive role of learners themselves in their own problems. The search for happiness and success, first of all, always lies within oneself,” Minister Nguyen Kim Son wrote in the letter.

In addition, Minister Nguyen Kim Son also left his personal phone number in the letter and sent a message to Bao Thuc: "You can call and talk to me anytime, about any issue, both now and in the future."
