This year's award honored 18 groups and individuals whose works have actively contributed to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural and artistic values ​​of the nation.

In the summary report at the Dao Tan Award Ceremony 2024, Mr. Nguyen The Khoa, Deputy Director of the Institute for Research on Preservation and Promotion of Ethnic Culture, Head of the Organizing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dao Tan Award Council, said that the Dao Tan Award 2024 started with a lot of confidence when ethnic art is having many optimistic changes.

“The Organizing Committee has selected nearly 50 works, authors, and art units that meet the two major criteria of the Dao Tan Award to submit to the Dao Tan Award Council for consideration and awarding. After a period of consideration and consultation with highly prestigious artists and critics, the Award Council has agreed to award 18 awards, including 11 individual awards for outstanding artists and writers; 5 outstanding plays by 5 professional theater units and 2 outstanding semi-professional art troupe awards for 2 semi-professional opera troupes” – Mr. Nguyen The Khoa, Deputy Director of the Institute for Research on Preservation and Promotion of National Culture, Head of the Organizing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dao Tan Award Council, emphasized.

In the stage play category - the basic category of the Dao Tan Award, 5 stage works of 5 professional stage units were awarded the Outstanding Play Award, including: Cheo play "Red Rain" by Hai Phong Cheo Art Troupe; Cai luong play "Debt to the Country" by Vietnam Cai Luong Theater; Spoken play "Rain and Clouds" by Hero Film Limited Company, Ho Chi Minh City; Cheo play "My Captain" by the Army Cheo Theater; Cheo play "Miracle Sticky Rice" by Hanoi Cheo Theater.

People's Artist Le Thuy was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement in Artistic Creation and Dedication to Serving the People" Award; Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong was awarded the "Outstanding Cultural Manager" Award.

Singer Duong Dinh Tri was honored along with many artists at the 2024 Dao Tan Award ceremony.

The authors awarded the Outstanding Work Award include: Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu with the epic poem “The Soldiers of the Village”; Poet Tran Vu Mai with “Tran Vu Mai’s Selected Poems”; Poet Do Nam Cao with “Do Nam Cao’s Selected Poems”; Sculptor Vuong Duy Bien with the work “Uncle Ho’s Monument to the South” on Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang; Sculptor Luu Thanh Lan with the three sculptures “The Soldiers Guarding the Island”, “Land” and “Lullaby of Spring”; Musician Hinh Phuoc Lien with the song “Ba Ve Ngu Chon Non Tien”.

Singer and musician Nguyen Duc Chinh was awarded the “Outstanding singer and musician who sings and writes about the capital Hanoi” award; Singer Duong Dinh Tri was awarded the “Outstanding program creator” award for the program “Steps of two generations” (maintained continuously for 15 years, from 2009 to present); Artist, master Vuong Danh Thuong (Director of the Hat Van Training Center under the Institute for Research on Preservation and Promotion of National Culture) was awarded the “Outstanding trainer” award.

People's Artist Le Thuy hopes that her son - singer Duong Dinh Tri - will continue to contribute to art, worthy of the Dao Tan award.

People's Artist Le Thuy shared: "I have been to the capital many times to perform, when I was in the Ho Chi Minh City Performing Arts Troupe, and later in Troupe 284. The capital's audience loves the art of reformed opera. Today, I am even happier because my son, singer Duong Dinh Tri, has followed in his mother's footsteps and received an award for his role in creating the program "Steps of Two Generations". Established in 2000, right from the establishment of the Institute for Research on Preservation and Promotion of National Culture and the Van Hien Magazine, the Dao Tan Award was created to award collectives and individuals with outstanding works of theater, literature, painting, and music, actively contributing to the cause of building, protecting, and integrating the country, preserving and promoting traditional cultural and artistic values ​​of the nation.

Initially, the Award was given every two years; since 2005, it has been given every year.
