People of Hoa Hai commune urgently plant winter corn.

Due to the impact of floods, the progress of the winter crop in Huong Khe is behind schedule. With forecasts of continued rain in the coming days, the entire Huong Khe district is racing against the weather, focusing on production, and ensuring the winter crop area is planted on schedule.

In Chau Quynh field, hundreds of farmers in village 6, Hoa Hai commune are busy plowing, fertilizing, and planting winter corn. Mr. Luu Thanh Binh - Village Chief of village 6 shared that due to heavy rain and little sunshine, the rice fields have not reached the most ideal level for production. However, experts have warned that there will be rain in the coming days, so all households are going to the fields to close the area soon.

Thanks to support for seed costs, people are excited to strive to cover the winter crop area.

"Currently, commercial corn is at a high price, easy to produce and the district supports part of the seed cost, so people are very excited, actively producing, striving not to leave the land fallow. Even with more than 1 hectare of corn that was planted, washed away by the flood in early November, people have now plowed and sown again. To keep up with the progress, the village has also mobilized more than 10 mechanical machines from households to work day and night. My family alone planted more than 4 sao of corn this winter crop, and is expected to complete planting before the rains," Mr. Binh added.

Therefore, the District Association has requested localities to step up propaganda activities, mobilize members and farmers to take advantage of favorable weather to speed up land preparation, sow corn and other winter crops on time, and achieve assigned targets and plans. In particular, cadres and members who are party members and good production and business households should set an example first to propagate and mobilize members and farmers to actively produce.
