The planning has oriented the comprehensive development of economic sectors according to a specific roadmap, contributing to improving the ability to attract investment and creating a solid foundation for sustainable development.
Recently, Ninh Thuan has recorded a strong breakthrough in many fields. In the period 2018-2023, the scale of the provincial economy increased more than 1.7 times, the average GRDP growth rate reached nearly 9%, among the highest in the country. In 2024 alone, economic growth is estimated to reach 8.74%, bringing Ninh Thuan to the group of middle-income provinces.
Key economic sectors such as agriculture, industry, construction and renewable energy have all made remarkable progress. Renewable energy, a typical strength of the province, continues to be effective. Many key projects have been accelerated and put into operation, contributing to creating new momentum for the local economy.
To realize larger goals, Ninh Thuan is focusing on three important breakthroughs, including: Improving the business investment environment, removing difficulties in administrative procedures and unlocking resources. The provincial government has introduced many policies to support businesses, from improving planning, land, construction to promoting human resource training linkage programs.
The province is also proposing that the Central Government grant it greater autonomy to implement specific policies that are suitable to local realities. This will not only help Ninh Thuan maximize its internal strength but also create favorable conditions to attract more large investment projects, especially in the field of renewable energy.

Sustainable development orientation
Recently, at the Scientific Workshop on the socio-economic development orientation of Ninh Thuan province in the period of 2025-2030, experts emphasized the importance of marine economy and urbanization in creating development momentum. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, former Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute, proposed that Ninh Thuan needs to have breakthrough solutions in terms of institutions and policies to solve bottlenecks, promote economic development in a sustainable and national direction. According to him, Ninh Thuan has been successful in attracting large enterprises, creating the premise to become a regional economic center. However, to maintain the development momentum, the province needs to strongly improve the investment environment, minimize administrative procedures and create favorable conditions for enterprises to access capital, labor and land.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tran Du Lich, member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council, said that in order to turn the “Land of Convergence of Different Values” into an advantage for rapid and sustainable development, Ninh Thuan needs to have high political determination, focus resources, take advantage of opportunities, and create breakthroughs for economic pillars (energy, ports - logistics, tourism, agriculture and fisheries, processing industry) to achieve an average growth of about 11-12%/year.
The locality also needs to focus on key industry groups according to the planning, in which it is necessary to take advantage of the Government's mechanism, develop the energy industry, and the advantages of the area selected to build national nuclear power plants to build a synchronous ecosystem of the National Energy Center. With the advantages of a clean energy center, it will attract investment in building large data centers, AI centers, semiconductor industries, and implementing digital transformation and green transformation. To attract investors and businesses, Ninh Thuan also needs to build a legal investment environment with outstanding competitiveness. Restarting the construction of nuclear power plants does not change the provincial development planning orientation approved by the Prime Minister and creates a breakthrough in the process of forming the National Energy Center...
In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Quang Binh (University of Danang) emphasized the need to develop attractive incentive policies, especially in strategic economic sectors. He also suggested that Ninh Thuan should focus on developing transport infrastructure, training high-quality human resources and allocating resources reasonably between the East and West regions to maximize the potential of both regions.
It can be said that Ninh Thuan is gradually becoming one of the important economic centers of the country.
