Recently, the incident of model Chau Bui being secretly filmed while changing clothes at a photo studio in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City has attracted public attention. This is probably the first time an artist in Vietnam has publicly disclosed that her image and privacy have been violated like that. Chau Bui has also reported to the police for protection.
However, in the Chinese or Korean entertainment industry, many similar incidents have happened to artists. Many crazy fans, when they know the schedules of female artists, secretly use cameras disguised as pens, watches, etc. placed in hard-to-detect locations in toilets, bathrooms or dressing rooms to record sensitive images of female stars, then spread them on the internet or blackmail them.
Some people are even more sophisticated, installing tiny hidden cameras inside tiny holes in sneakers or walking sticks to secretly film the buttocks of girls wearing short skirts. Many artists in Asia have fallen into this situation and been blackmailed by criminals.
Tuong Mong Tiep
In April 2023, actress Jiang Mengjie caused a stir on social media when she revealed that someone had secretly filmed her up her skirt and then used the sensitive images to blackmail her. Immediately after, the beauty of the movie Dream of the Red Chamber reported the incident to the police and caught the person who secretly filmed her.
According to Tuong Mong Tiep, she received threatening messages from this person. He threatened that if the actress did not give money, sensitive clips and images would be sent to the film crew, entertainment companies and the media, causing her to lose her career and her reputation to be affected. Refusing to compromise with the bad guy, Tuong Mong Tiep reported to the police and found this person.
Sohu reported that after the incident, a friend sent Jiang Mengjie a sensitive video of her secretly filmed years ago while walking around a shopping mall on a foreign website. Notably, the video, titled “Pictures under the skirt of a Chinese star,” had more than 1 million views. Because the video was posted on a foreign website, her team was unable to handle it.
Sharing about the incident on her personal page, Tuong Mong Tiep affirmed that being secretly filmed is not the women's fault and their lives do not deserve to be affected by these depraved acts. "I can't trace it back to the source, but the blackmailer has been arrested. The bad guys need to be punished before the law," the actress wrote.
Chau Bach Hao
In June 2023, two photos of singer and actor Pakho Chau secretly filmed in his dressing room were posted on social media. In the photos, the actor from "Lost in Sight 2" can be seen completely naked.
Immediately after the two photos were leaked, Chau Bach Hao's representative said he had contacted a lawyer to advise on legal matters.
According to Sinchew, in 2018, Chau Bach Hao was stalked by a crazy fan who secretly filmed him in the dressing room. However, at that time, no sensitive photos of Chau Bach Hao were leaked. Also in 2018, the male singer born in 1984 posted a long post on Instagram revealing that he was secretly photographed in the dressing room after participating in a basketball match.
Discovering the incident, Chau Bach Hao chased and caught this person - a young man who was only 18 years old. However, some witnesses at the scene said that the young man was still young and "made a mistake" and asked Chau Bach Hao not to report to the police and to let this person go. However, Chau Bach Hao said that this young man needed to be aware of his wrongdoing because this was a very serious crime.
"He deliberately filmed me while I was changing clothes, this is unacceptable. I cannot interrogate him like the police, but I also need to let this young man know that secretly filming others while they are changing clothes is against the law," Chau Bach Hao wrote.
After receiving an apology from the young man, Chau Bach Hao ignored the matter. Some netizens believe that the sensitive photo of Chau Bach Hao that was leaked may have been taken in 2018, possibly because the photographer did not completely delete the sensitive images or the phone was stolen, so the image was leaked online.
Liu Yu Rou
According to Ifeng, in July 2020, a boxing gym in Taiwan (China) was sued for installing hidden cameras in the women's locker room. Accordingly, there were at least 10 women as victims, including Taiwanese actress - Liu Yu Nhu (Yvonne Liu). The person who denounced this gym was also the actress born in 1987.
According to Appledaily Taiwan, Liu Yuru went to the gym as usual in March 2020. When she was about to start her set, she found a phone charger still in the socket in the dressing room. When she took it out to check, she discovered a small hidden camera there.
Actress Liu immediately reported the incident to the police. After the police came to investigate and search the gym, they discovered that Mr. Tran - the owner of the boxing gym - was the main suspect. At first, this person still denied the crime, but when faced with the evidence presented, Mr. Tran had to admit his guilt.
Sina reported that Liu Yuru's husband had known Mr. Tran for a long time. The incident was said to have dealt a heavy psychological blow to the actress and her husband. In fact, Liu Yuru was also the advertising ambassador for Mr. Tran's boxing gym.
After the incident was exposed, Liu Yuru's spirit was very depressed and severely affected. Thanks to the encouragement of the audience, the actress and four other victims gradually regained their spirits and resolutely sued Mr. Tran in court.
Girl group AKB48
In 2015, news that members of the famous Japanese girl group AKB48 had secret cameras placed in their dressing rooms or bathrooms by their senior managers angered fans.
According to Sina, this person took advantage of his position to place cameras in "dead" corners or used pens and cigarettes to disguise hidden cameras in the hotel's changing rooms and restrooms. This manager is Takeshi Nodera.
Police said there were 75 videos totaling 15 hours and more than 200 private photos of the girls from the AKB48 group from 2007 to 2010.
Pearwah Nichaphat and Fon Sananthachat
In September 2021, two famous actresses Pearwah Nichaphat and Fon Sananthachat held a press conference to announce the incident of bad guys secretly filming cameras in the dressing room and toilet and spreading sensitive clips.
According to Pearwah, she was secretly filmed by a bad guy who set up a camera in the host's dressing room when she went to a building to film a show in October 2014. The incident happened so suddenly that the actress, born in 1995, always felt insecure and worried every time she entered the dressing room or the women's restroom.
Pearwah also warned that those who spread her sensitive clips online are breaking the law. Violators will be sentenced to imprisonment of no more than 3 years or a fine of no more than 60,000 baht or both if the crime is more serious. If the victim is a child, this can be considered a serious crime and will be sentenced to imprisonment of 3 to 10 years and a fine of 60,000 to 200,000 baht (about 41 - 139 million VND).
Another actress, Fon Sananthachat, was also filmed by a camera hidden in the bathroom of the same building as Pearwah. The beauty born in 1994 also warned her female colleagues and female audiences to check every corner of the dressing room or bathroom in public places such as shopping malls, clothing stores, studios or anywhere they go.
After Pearwah and Fon reported the incident, Thai police arrested the person who filmed the video. Investigations revealed that the stalkers uploaded the secretly filmed videos to sensitive websites and sold them at high prices. In addition, the police also discovered that in addition to the two famous stars Pearwah and Fon, there were many other female victims.
