At To Hieu Primary School (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province), the letters from the school's Board of Directors made parents and students feel touched and warm.
The letter said: "Every year, on major holidays, especially on Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20, the school receives many congratulatory flower baskets. However, the school only uses these flowers for a few days, which is very wasteful.
Currently, due to the impact of the prolonged epidemic situation, many students' families are facing many difficulties. To Hieu Primary School currently has 55 students who, due to difficult circumstances, do not have money to buy health insurance cards.
"Through this open letter, the school respectfully requests that instead of giving flowers, the school would like to exchange it for giving medical cards worth a certain amount for students so that the school can give them to students in especially difficult circumstances, each card worth 631,800 VND. The school hopes to receive support from agencies, businesses, and parents to help ease the difficulties of the school's students." - Principal of To Hieu Primary School Doan Thi Tuyet Yen shared.
Touching open letter from To Hieu Primary School, Buon Ma Thuot City - Dak Lak Province.
Previously, on November 16, in Ho Chi Minh City, an emotional open letter from the Principal of Nguyen Van Luong Secondary School also made parents and students feel warmer and more confident in teachers with noble hearts: "Dear agencies, businesses, parents of students, and philanthropists. Every year, on Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, the school receives many flower baskets and congratulatory cakes. However, these flowers and cakes are only used for one day and then thrown away, which is a waste.
This year, due to the difficult economic situation after the pandemic, through this open letter, the school respectfully requests that instead of giving flowers and cakes, businesses and parents of students please change to giving health insurance cards for the school to give to disadvantaged students.
Currently, the school has 89 disadvantaged students who cannot buy student health insurance cards. The value of each health insurance card is 680,400 VND, valid for 12 months of 2024. The school hopes to receive support and sharing from benefactors and parents to help the school's students, which is also a good social security policy."
Mr. Dinh Phu Cuong said that in previous years, the situation was not so difficult. But this year, when the school implemented the student health insurance collection according to regulations, it found out that many students were in very difficult circumstances. Some had unemployed parents, some were orphans... Meanwhile, every year, the school received many flowers and cakes to congratulate them.
"Flowers and cakes are beautiful and delicious, but they must be thrown away after one day. Therefore, the school board met and agreed to convert these gifts into health insurance cards for students," Mr. Cuong informed.
Mr. Dinh Phu Cuong, the writer of the letter, said that fortunately, the school's parents were very supportive. Therefore, after 2 days of launching the campaign, the initial number of cards requested was 89 cards for 89 children, but parents supported up to 200 cards, so the school announced to stop the campaign.
"With these remaining cards, we will ask for opinions to save them and take care of these children during the upcoming Lunar New Year" - the leader of Nguyen Van Luong Secondary School sent a message.
"I hope that these noble and humane things will continue to spread in the community. So that somewhere, students with difficult family circumstances can be given strength of faith, and at least have some warmth with their peers," said Ms. M, a parent of a student.
