In 2024, many universities will increase tuition fees according to the roadmap of Decree 97/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs, and service prices in the field of education and training. Along with that, many schools also increased scholarship policies for students under the policy and also for technical and technological majors.

Autonomous schools increase scholarships

According to Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, in 2024, the school's tuition fees will be adjusted to increase slightly (ranging from 30-44 million VND/year, depending on the training major) according to the roadmap of Decree 97/2023/ND-CP. However, along with that, the school will increase the scholarship level for policy students and disadvantaged students who are not policy students.

Specifically, from 2024 onwards, the school will exempt or reduce tuition fees for students who are children of teachers, female students studying technical majors, students in difficult circumstances, students with high achievements in excellent student exams... In addition to exempting or reducing tuition fees, the scholarship policy to encourage learning will also be increased, with a level of 100% -130% of tuition fees. For female students studying technical and technological majors, the school will consider reducing tuition fees, with a reduction of up to 40%. This tuition reduction will be maintained throughout the study process if the student achieves good results (2.5/4 points, calculated according to the cumulative score of the credit system) or higher.
