Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety took samples to test Kera vegetable candy

On March 14, the Department of Food Safety (ATTP) of Ho Chi Minh City said that this agency has conducted an inspection and taken samples for testing of Kera vegetable candy of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company.

"When the results of the investigation are available, the Department of Food Safety will inform the press and media," said a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety.

At a press conference providing information on socio -economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City on March 13, Chief of Office of the Department of Culture and Sports Vo Ho Hoang Vu said he had received information about the case of a celebrity over-advertising Kera vegetable candy.

According to Mr. Vo Ho Hoang Vu, the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health has requested the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate in checking information and handling violations. Therefore, the Department of Culture and Sports will continue to monitor, review and coordinate in handling when requested by the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information.

Previously, Dr. Nguyen Hung Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health , said that through social networks, he had learned about the case of Supergreens Gummies (“Kera vegetable candy”) supplement showing signs of violating regulations on food advertising, causing public outrage.

The Food Safety Department has sent a document requesting the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety to urgently inspect the operations of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company regarding the conditions for production, publication, and advertising of the product "Kera vegetable candy".

At noon on March 7, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety assigned the Inspection Department and Food Safety Management Team No. 2 to conduct an inspection of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company (located in Thu Duc City).
