This year’s September 2nd holiday lasts 4 days, so 3-5 day tours to nearby destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and China are preferred by many Vietnamese tourists. Many companies have sold out their overseas tours since mid-August.

Flamingo Redtours Communications Manager Vu Bich Hue said that this year the number of customers has increased, all of the company's tours have been sold out, reaching 100% of the plan set for September 2. Tours to Thailand, Korea, Japan, and China with prices starting from 8.8 million VND were sold out early.

Meanwhile, General Director of Trang An Travel Nguyen Huu Cuong said that hot destinations such as Beijing - Shanghai and charter flights from Cat Bi - Li Giang were also fully booked early.

Many Vietnamese people flock to travel abroad on September 2nd

"The cool, pleasant early autumn landscape and many incentives to stimulate tourism from the tourism departments of various countries make tourists love foreign tours on September 2 this year," said Ms. Vu Bich Hue.

According to Btour International Travel and Media Company Limited, Mr. Mai Xuan Thao - Director of the company, as of mid-August, the rate of holiday tour sales reached nearly 60%, of which outbound (international tours) accounted for 70%. Tours requiring visas such as China, Japan, and Korea were almost sold out. Tours to Southeast Asia or Northeast Asia are still accepting guests because these destinations do not require visas or do not require many procedures. In case of early booking and opening of more tours, the tour price will not increase, however, individual airfares can increase by up to 10%.

Btour representative said that Vietnamese tourists book tours for the September 2nd holiday most often 1-2 months in advance (July to early August). Booking tours early helps customers have more options for schedules, accommodations, accompanying services as well as get preferential prices early.

Similar to other tour companies, with Vietravel, up to this point, about 80% of the seats at Vietravel have been booked, the remaining 20% are domestic tours or Southeast Asia tours that do not require visas or tours with short visa preparation time of 7-10 days such as Japan, Korea. The number of customers booking tours in 2024 is equivalent to the same period in 2019, an increase of 30% compared to 2023.

Vietravel Hanoi representative said that this year 60% of customers booked international tours, 40% domestic tours.

Autumn landscapes in Asian countries delight many tourists.

According to the companies, many customers often choose short-term international tours to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Bali with prices from 9 million VND or Chinese tours such as Zhangjiajie - Phoenix Ancient Town; Lijiang - Shangrila with prices from 7.9 million VND. For longer flight destinations (5 hours) such as Korea, Japan, customers choose night flights to save time, so the schedule is basically still included in 4 days of holiday.

Domestic travel agencies say that in the past two years, mid-range foreign tours and combo tours have shown no signs of cooling down. Some destinations in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia are the top choices of Vietnamese tourists because of their affordable prices, overwhelming domestic tours in the context of rising domestic airfares.

"Currently, domestic tourists mainly choose self-guided discovery tours, so the decrease in domestic tours is partly the reason. Currently, experiential tourism is a trend. Tourists will be able to immerse themselves in wild nature, the daily life of local people, participate in daily activities, discover unique dishes..." - Btour representative shared more./.
