Separate exam schedules for new and old programs

2025 is the first year of the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program (new program). Accordingly, candidates must register to take 3 exams, including 2 independent exams: Math, Literature; 1 optional exam including 2 subjects from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, Foreign Language. Candidates can register to take a foreign language other than the foreign language they are studying at high school.

In addition to candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, this year, because there are still candidates studying the 2006 General Education Program (old program) retaking the exam for graduation or university admission, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes a separate exam schedule and exams for this group. Accordingly, candidates register for 4 exams, including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language; 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences (component subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or 1 combined exam of Social Sciences (component subjects are History, Geography, Civic Education). Candidates in the regular education system register for 3 exams, including 2 independent exams: Math, Literature and 1 combined exam, in which the combined exam of Social Sciences has only 2 components: History and Geography. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates can register to take the exam if they wish to use this subject in the university and college admission combination.

Regulations on where to submit application documents

According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, candidates who complete general education and continuing education programs in the year of the exam can register to take the exam online or directly at the high school where they study grade 12.

For candidates who have not graduated from high school in previous years; candidates who have a high school diploma or a secondary school diploma taking the exam to use the results as a basis for admission registration, register for the exam online or in person. In particular, independent candidates who are former students of any school in the province submit their application for the exam directly there; if independent candidates are residing in other districts, towns, or cities where the candidate has completed grade 12, they must submit their application to the unit where the candidate is residing.

For independent candidates from other provinces (studying high school program), submit their application directly to one of the high schools in the province; candidates studying the continuing education program submit their application directly to one of the following units: Continuing education center, continuing education - career guidance center, vocational secondary school, ethnic boarding vocational secondary school in the province.

Candidates who are police and military officers on active duty in Nha Trang City must submit their application directly at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted; candidates who are members of the mobile police force must submit their application directly at Hoang Van Thu High School.

Register for the contest from April 21 to 28

Mr. Vo Hoan Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training said that the department has requested units to organize for cadres, teachers, employees, and students to study the exam regulations; guide candidates to register online or in person with complete and correct information; carefully check the exam registration documents, especially the correct exam subjects, ensure the accuracy of diplomas, certificates, transcripts, documents proving priority and encouragement status, etc. At the same time, publicly announce cases that are not eligible to take the exam no later than June 5.

To prepare for the exam, the Department of Education and Training will organize training on exam regulations and exam organization procedures for exam staff before April 12. During the 4 days (from April 15 to 18), candidates who are students in grade 12 will be able to try registering for the exam online on the exam management system. From 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 28, candidates will officially register for the exam.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held from June 25 to 28. On June 25, candidates will complete exam registration procedures; on June 26 and 27, they will take the exams; and June 28 is the backup exam date. The exam results will be announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 16. The Department of Education and Training will consider recognizing high school graduation by July 18 at the latest.
