Vietnam Railways Corporation said it will apply many preferential discount policies for North-South passenger train tickets on the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025.
Specifically, during the Tet transportation period from January 15 to February 16, 2025 (ie from December 16 to January 19), the railway will operate 9 pairs of Thong Nhat Hanoi - Saigon passenger trains and 13 pairs of regional passenger trains including Saigon - Vinh, Saigon - Da Nang, Saigon - Quang Ngai, Saigon - Quy Nhon, Saigon - Nha Trang, Saigon - Phan Thiet; Hanoi - Da Nang, Hanoi - Vinh, Hue - Da Nang.

During the Tet holiday from January 28 to January 31, 2025 (ie from December 29 to January 3), some additional train pairs will be organized from Saigon station to Hue, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Quang Ngai, Nha Trang; from Hanoi station to Vinh, Dong Hoi... to serve passengers on spring trips.
This business also said: From now until 3:00 p.m. on September 30, 2024, we will accept group ticket registrations; from October 1, 2024, we will start selling tickets to registered groups.
From 8:00 a.m. on October 6, 2024, individual tickets will be widely sold. Each passenger can book and buy no more than 10 tickets for the outbound trip and 10 tickets for the return trip.
In particular, during the Tet train running period, the railway still applies many discount policies.
Accordingly, the fare from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi before Tet and from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City after Tet will be reduced by 3% on trains departing from Saigon station on January 27, 2025 (ie December 28 of the lunar calendar) and traveling from 1,000km or more.
Discount from 2% to 8% on ticket prices for groups of 11 or more people traveling by train between January 15 and January 20, 2025 (for even-numbered trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi) and from February 10 to February 16, 2025 (for odd-numbered trains from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City). Tour guides also receive a 50% discount on ticket prices.
5% discount on return tickets for passengers purchasing round-trip tickets. 20% discount on tickets for students of universities, academies, colleges, vocational and technical high schools from January 15 to January 21, 2025 (for even-numbered trains) and from February 10 to February 16, 2025 (for odd-numbered trains). Other periods are 10% discount.
The railway still applies discounts for social policy beneficiaries such as Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, people infected with toxic chemicals, people with severe disabilities, the elderly, children, union members, and passengers with customer cards.
