On the afternoon of January 26, at an altitude of 3,000m or higher at Fansipan peak, Sa Pa town, heavy snow fell, creating a beautiful scene.

This is the first snowfall to appear on Fansipan in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.

Snow fell and covered the wooden floor of the Fansipan symbol area and the trees and grass on the mountain top from 2:30 p.m. Until 3:30 p.m. the same day, snow continued to fall.

According to Fansipan Legend media representative, when the snow appeared, the temperature was around -2 degrees Celsius.

Previously, in the early morning of November 23, 2024, ice and snow also appeared on the top of Fansipan.

Temperatures had dropped below zero and by 5am, ice and snow had begun to form on the wooden floors and trees at the mountain tops.

This is a rare natural phenomenon, usually only occurring in high mountainous areas in some northern mountainous provinces during the cold winter.

Every time ice and snow appear, visitors always feel excited and delighted with this sight.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from January 26, the Northern and North Central regions will experience severe cold, mountainous areas will be extremely cold, and high mountainous areas may have frost and frost.
