Multiplying the strength of national unity

Throughout history, the Party and President Ho Chi Minh have always attached great importance to building, consolidating and expanding the great national unity bloc. Inheriting and promoting that fine tradition, in recent years, especially in the 2019-2024 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Ninh province has promoted its role as a bridge between the Party and the people, gathering the people into a strong great national unity bloc, joining hands and hearts to successfully carry out political tasks, making an important contribution to the cause of building and developing a model, rich, civilized and modern Quang Ninh province.

In 2019, Nam Son commune (Ba Che district) had 21 poor households and 24 near-poor households. To date, the commune has no poor households according to the Central criteria. This result has a significant contribution from the Commune Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations in mobilizing and promoting the strength of the national solidarity bloc to implement poverty reduction criteria.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Son Commune, Hoang Van Pau, said: Based on the local characteristics, the Fatherland Front of the commune has coordinated and promoted the role of prestigious people and exemplary front cadres in propaganda work, creating high consensus among the people to implement policies and resolutions of the province and locality. Through meetings, Party cell activities, and mass organization activities, the team of front cadres has actively mobilized and gathered people to participate in emulation movements to build new rural areas, implement Program 135, and sustainably reduce poverty; humanitarian and charitable activities; support the construction of "Great Unity" houses, policy families, poor households, and build the "For the Poor" fund.

With the participation of the front cadres, socio-political organizations, all patriotic emulation movements and campaigns have been actively responded to and effectively implemented by the masses. In the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Nam Son commune have mobilized socialized resources to build new houses and repair houses for 55 poor, near-poor, and extremely disadvantaged households with a mobilized amount of over 2 billion VND. On average, each year, the commune has 5 households escaping poverty from poverty reduction support with addresses from the government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the area.

In Tien Yen district, in the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has promoted and widely implemented practical emulation movements, such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; "Flower roads, murals, green, clean and beautiful environmental landscapes"; "Green Sunday"; "Lighting up the countryside roads"; "Farmers compete in good production and business"; "Youth join hands to build new rural areas"... Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels has also done a good job of gathering the great solidarity of the people, actively coordinating with the government, mass organizations at the same level to mobilize and mobilize organizations, individuals, businesses and people to contribute over 229 billion VND to build advanced new rural areas. In particular, mobilizing people to donate over 150,000m2 ^of land to build inter-village roads; mobilizing organizations, individuals and businesses to support the construction of 74 new "Great Solidarity" houses; Built over 20,345m of flower roads and 1,232m2 ^of murals; installed lighting on 76 routes with a length of over 38km...

In 2023, Tien Yen is one of the first two district-level localities in the country to reach the advanced NTM standard, two years ahead of the set target. The whole district currently has 6/10 communes meeting the model NTM standard, and 4/10 communes meeting the advanced NTM standard.

During the past term, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations at all levels in the province have synchronously deployed patriotic emulation movements and campaigns with many diverse and creative forms, many models, and specific tasks associated with the implementation of political tasks and goals, and socio-economic development of the province. Up to now, the patriotic emulation movements have been widely deployed, all of which have been effective, attracting the active participation of the people, creating solidarity in the community, contributing to the implementation of economic, cultural, social, security, and defense goals.

The most obvious are the models, credit work, loan guarantees for production development, poverty reduction, and mobilizing social resources to participate in the program of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. In particular, the Fatherland Front at all levels has established and built 521 pilot models in implementing the campaign to build new rural areas. The Women's Union at all levels in the province has implemented 1,992 women's models with a total of more than 200,000 members. The Provincial Veterans Association with the model "Lighting up the countryside" has installed 39,431 light bulbs, with a total implementation cost of over 20 billion VND. The Provincial Youth Union with the model "Community digital transformation team", "Youth volunteers, volunteering to develop the socio-economy and protect the Fatherland", "Accompanying young people in establishing themselves and starting a career"...

Thanks to that, by the end of 2023, the whole province will have 96% of residential areas achieving the title of "Cultural Village and Quarter", 98/98 communes meeting the NTM standards (100%); 56/98 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards (57.1%); 28/98 communes meeting the model NTM standards (28.57%); 13/13 district-level localities meeting the NTM standards. Quang Ninh province completed the NTM criteria, finishing 2 years ahead of schedule.

The Fatherland Front of Hong Ha Ward (Ha Long City) has done a good job of propagating and mobilizing households in Zone 4 to contribute to the improvement of roads and sidewalks in the neighborhood.

Activities to care for the poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households during Tet, and support localities to complete environmental and housing criteria for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the area have been actively implemented.

In the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels has mobilized and presented 354,325 Tet gifts, worth more than 220.34 billion VND; mobilized over 157 billion VND to support the construction and repair of 2,513 "Great Solidarity" houses; supported Binh Lieu and Ba Che districts to build 827 hygienic toilets. In particular, in 2023, the focus was on mobilizing and organizing the construction and repair of 441 houses in the program to eliminate temporary houses and newly-emerged dilapidated houses in the province with a total amount of money, materials, objects and labor days worth over 37 billion VND.

These results have contributed to making Quang Ninh the first locality in the country to complete the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program for the 2021-2025 period, moving to the construction and implementation phase according to the province's new multidimensional poverty standards, which are 1.4 times higher than the national multidimensional poverty standards.

The movements: The whole people unite to build a cultural life, build a civilized lifestyle, implement village covenants and conventions in residential areas; compete to encourage learning and talent, and build a learning society in the province, which have been actively responded to by the people. Currently, the whole province has built 4,131 groups and clusters of people who self-manage security and order; every year, more than 2/3 of communes, wards and towns are recognized as "Basic Security" models. The movements "The whole people participate in protecting national sovereignty, territory and border security in the new situation", "The whole people in fire prevention and fighting" have been concretized with many creative models, associated with practical requirements of the locality.

The strength of the great national solidarity bloc has been clearly demonstrated in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic for 3 years (2020-2022). The Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has called on agencies, units, organizations, businesses and individuals inside and outside the province with their deep feelings and responsibilities to strengthen solidarity and spread the spirit of "Mutual love" in the work of preventing and fighting the pandemic. Many resources in society have been mobilized, the Fatherland Front at all levels has received support with an amount of over 236 billion VND, along with many medical equipment, supplies and other necessities to serve the work of preventing and fighting the pandemic and supporting vulnerable people and circumstances.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hoi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said: Looking back at the results in implementing action programs and current reality in the area, it can be affirmed that the work of propaganda, mobilization, gathering people of all walks of life, consolidating, enhancing and promoting the strength of great national unity has been carried out by the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province with the highest sense of responsibility. That has contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Ninh province, further affirming the role of the Fatherland Front in building and promoting the great national unity bloc in the new situation.
