Today (October 17), Vietnam's No. 1 tennis player and currently ranked 32nd in the world, Nguyen Thuy Linh, lost to Thai tennis player Supanida Katethong (ranked 11th in the world) in the second round of the women's singles at the 2024 Denmark Open badminton tournament. This is a tournament within the World Tour Super 750 system of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) with a total prize money of up to 850,000 USD (about 21 billion VND).

Supanida Katethong is currently the highest-ranked Thai tennis player on the BWF rankings. She is also the reigning SEA Games women's singles champion. In the three encounters with Nguyen Thuy Linh, Supanida Katethong won 2 and lost 1. In this encounter, Nguyen Thuy Linh created a tight match against her opponent but the result was not as expected.

In the first half of game 1, Nguyen Thuy Linh kept a close eye on Supanida Katethong, but then the Thai player made a strong breakthrough, winning 21/14. In game 2, Nguyen Thuy Linh played with determination, continuously leading Supanida Katethong.
