(Dan Tri) - Former SEA Games 31 champion Nguyen Duc Tuan made an impressive comeback after a period of injury to contribute greatly to helping the Hai Duong table tennis team win the national championship of strong teams.
Taking place from October 27 to November 3 at Dong Nai Province Gymnasium, the 2024 National Table Tennis Tournament for Strong Teams will have the participation of 28 teams from many provinces and cities across the country. The teams will compete in 7 events: men's team, women's team, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's singles, women's singles.

As expected by fans, returning after a long break due to injury, tennis player Nguyen Duc Tuan (who created a feat by winning the men's singles championship at the 31st SEA Games) had an impressive comeback when he helped the Hai Duong table tennis team win the overall championship with 2 gold medals (HCV), 3 silver medals (HCB) and 1 bronze medal (HCĐ).
Notably, both of Hai Duong’s gold medals were largely contributed by Nguyen Duc Tuan, when he, along with Doan Ba Tuan Anh and Nguyen Duy Phong, won the gold medal in the team event and, together with female tennis player Bui Ngoc Lan, won the gold medal in the mixed doubles event. In the men’s singles event, unfortunately, Duc Tuan only won the silver medal after losing to Vietnam’s number 1 tennis player Nguyen Anh Tu in the final match.
In the women's team event, the Ho Chi Minh City team with a lineup of three strong players Mai Hoang My Trang, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Nguyen Bach Thanh Thu won the gold medal after a convincing 3-0 victory over the Army women's team.

At this tournament, two players who won the 32nd SEA Games in mixed doubles, Tran Mai Ngoc and Dinh Anh Hoang, performed impressively, helping the People's Public Security and T&T teams win second place overall.
In the men's doubles event, Dinh Anh Hoang and Le Dinh Duc defeated the duo Nguyen Duc Tuan and Doan Ba Tuan to win the gold medal. Meanwhile, Tran Mai Ngoc and Nguyen Thuy Kieu My helped CAND-T&T win the women's doubles gold medal with a thrilling victory over the duo Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh and Nguyen Bach Thanh Thu with a score of 3-2.
In the men's singles event, Vietnam's number one tennis player Nguyen Anh Tu continued to maintain his form to win the gold medal, while Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh continued to be unrivaled in the women's singles event when defeating his teammate from the Ho Chi Minh City team in the final match.

Right after the national championship, the Vietnamese table tennis team will gather to prepare for the Southeast Asian table tennis championship taking place in Bangkok (Thailand) from November 17 to November 25.
Accordingly, the men's team will include players Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Dinh Anh Hoang, Doan Ba Tuan Anh and Nguyen Dang Hiep. The women's team will include 5 players Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Nguyen Thi Nga, Mai Hoang My Trang, Tran Mai Ngoc and Nguyen Bach Thanh Thu.
