In 1974, Division 304, Regiment 3, Division 324, Corps 2 of the Liberation Army, together with the army and people of Quang Da, fought bravely and repelled enemy attacks. More than 921 officers and soldiers of the liberation army heroically sacrificed their lives and more than 2,000 officers and soldiers were injured in this war.
The victory of Thuong Duc was the basis for opening major campaigns in the region, contributing significantly to the campaign to completely liberate the South and unify the country.
