CCTV reported that many elementary school students in Changde city (Hunan province, China) were hit by a car on the morning of November 19 in front of the school gate.

The incident occurred in front of the gate of Changde Elementary School. Many students were injured, but there is no exact information on the specific number. Xinhua News Agency and a tweet from the Global Times also reported that "many students were injured" after being hit by a car outside the school.

Chinese media have not yet clarified whether the crash was intentional. The China Daily headline read, “Students injured in Hunan car crash,” but the report did not specify whether the act was intentional or an accident.

Footage circulating on Chinese social media appears to show children running in panic and several injured people lying on the ground, according to AFP. Another video shows a bloodied man being beaten by passersby as he lies next to an SUV.

Previously, on the evening of November 16, a stabbing incident occurred on the evening of November 16 at a vocational school in Yixing city (Jiangsu province, China), killing 8 people and injuring 17 others.

The suspect, a student surnamed Xu (21 years old), was arrested at the scene. The injured were taken to the emergency room. A statement from the Yixing police cited preliminary investigation results showing that the male student returned to school to stab because he failed the exam and did not receive his diploma.

In addition, another car crash occurred on November 11, when a driver drove into a crowd exercising outside a sports center in Zhuhai, a city in southern China, killing 35 people and injuring 43.

According to CCTV on November 16, Chinese police have officially detained a 62-year-old man surnamed Fan who is accused of driving in the incident. Preliminary investigations show that the attack stemmed from his "dissatisfaction with the division of assets after the divorce."
