HAGL is willing to risk its achievements for the U.22 Vietnam team.
Entering the mid-season transfer period of V-League 2024 - 2025, HAGL Club unexpectedly introduced a group of 9 players of SEA Games age. Among them are names that were called back on loan such as Quang Kiet, Minh Tam, Minh Tien, Moi Se and also those who were promoted from the youth team such as Hoang Minh. Notably, before that, the mountain town team had Trung Kien, Ly Duc, Van Trieu, Gia Bao tested in the first team shirt at V-League. Obviously, the fact that the U.22 Vietnam team will not use over-age players at the 33rd SEA Games taking place at the end of the year in Thailand has boosted HAGL's determination to rejuvenate.

Coach Le Quang Trai affirmed: "HAGL's policy is always to give young players the opportunity to play, so that they can contribute to the national teams. Players born since 2003 need a suitable environment, real matches to be stronger and more mature than just practicing. Using young players will always be risky because they are inexperienced, but HAGL is willing to accept, even sacrificing achievements to support the U.22 Vietnam team."
Words go hand in hand with actions. In the match where HAGL lost 1-2 to Viettel The Cong Club, coach Quang Trai arranged for Trung Kien and Ly Duc to start, while Quang Kiet, Minh Tam, Hoang Minh and Moi Se were sent onto the field in the second half. This is a very clear signal that HAGL will boldly rejuvenate its squad even though the road ahead will be a fierce "finish line" in V-League 2024 - 2025. A very commendable determination of the mountain town team.
SLNA: The wall-based position of the youngest team in V-League
Also in round 12, SLNA lost 0-3 to Hanoi FC at Hang Day with a starting lineup of 25.7 years old, with Xuan Tien and Mai Hoang starting with Thanh Duc, Quang Vinh and Long Vu coming on in the second half. The financial crisis is part of the reason, along with the determination of the club's leadership, that SLNA is becoming the youngest team in V-League (the average age of the whole team is only 23.8). In SLNA's registration list, there are 16 players born from 2003 onwards. Among them, there are many young talents who have played for the U.23 Vietnam team and below such as Ho Van Cuong, Dinh Xuan Tien (2003), Tran Nam Hai (2004), Le Nguyen Hoang, Cao Van Binh (2005), Le Dinh Long Vu (2006)...
In addition to players born in 2003 or later of SLNA and HAGL, V-League 2024 - 2025 also has teams with many young faces. However, the chances of SEA Games age players playing in these clubs can be counted on the fingers of one hand. These include Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Cong Phuong (Viettel The Cong Club), Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Ngoc My, Doan Ngoc Ha (Thanh Hoa Club) ...
Commentator Ngo Quang Tung commented: "Looking at the U.22 Vietnam team at the SEA Games, we will certainly thank the two clubs HAGL and SLNA. Of course, frankly speaking, these two clubs do not have many options. They train young players well, of course, they have to use them because it is cheaper, after not having money to keep the pillars. We should not impose a framework for using people, but look at the broader picture, each club has its own individual measures. Currently, there are about 50 SEA Games age players registered in the V-League, each team has a different number and playing rate. Each club will need a balance between players of different ages, with someone to guide them scientifically, cleverly, and reasonably. That is the trend that the U.22 Vietnam team can benefit from with young talents playing in the V-League every weekend."
