The application of digital technology and the Internet to education has brought many new opportunities and challenges, affecting not only the way we teach and learn, but also the structure, content, goals of education and teachers.

What should a modern teacher be like in your opinion?

In my opinion, modern teachers must be suitable for the times - the times of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the digital age. They need enough knowledge to encourage learners to take advantage of the benefits of the digital age but not get lost in the online world for entertainment. Every teacher must know how to guide the young generation to live with ideals, ambitions and aspirations to start a career. Moreover, a teacher must have both solid knowledge and good pedagogical skills, and above all, know how to love and guide the young generation to live a decent life.

Besides opportunities, what difficulties and barriers do teachers today often encounter?

Each teacher has different difficulties. Besides the pressure from many sides, the lives of many teachers today are still difficult and lacking. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to the lives of teachers, so that they can work with peace of mind.

The quality of education today is not limited by the curriculum and textbooks as many people often say. Our generation studied at the Central Campus during the resistance war against the French. At that time, there was no curriculum or textbooks, but our class - outstanding individuals such as Ho Ngoc Dai, Ma Van Khang... all remember the knowledge they learned to this day. We were fortunate to study with a team of knowledgeable and passionate teachers. Therefore, in my opinion, the best way is to help teachers improve the quality of their lectures and constantly update their knowledge.

Many people believe that teachers must change in the digital transformation era. So how should they change to adapt?

Yes, digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into operations to change the way of operation and culture, thereby optimizing work performance to create new values for everyone. Students today all have smartphones, tablets, and laptops to serve their studies. They can collect knowledge online, and many even know how to take advantage of ChatGPT to study. For teachers, digital transformation and ChatGPT are good opportunities to improve their knowledge as well as the quality of their lectures.

Technological advances in the digital age create favorable conditions for teachers to constantly improve their knowledge. With just the will to progress and the means that have never been more convenient than today, teachers can improve their knowledge and expertise to suit their noble career. Besides the spirit of lifelong learning, there is also an equally important issue that teachers need to know how to improve their love for the profession, love for children, and consider the career of training generations of good and kind people as the great happiness of their lives.

Faced with the constant changes of society, teachers are considered "intellectual architects" to create the future generation for the country?

Teachers must change themselves to adapt to the times. Each teacher is not only an “intellectual architect” but also an “architect of the soul” to create a generation of young people with deep understanding of knowledge and who are patriotic youth. To help them live with noble ideals, great ambitions, know how to live kindly with society and wish to contribute to their homeland and nation.

Nowadays, lifelong learning has become a reality, technological advances allow people to have the conditions to learn what they love most at any age. So what knowledge and skills do modern teachers need, in your opinion?

I believe that modern teachers need to supplement and update a lot of knowledge and skills to avoid falling behind. In particular, the way of teaching and learning has also changed. The development of online learning platforms and virtual classrooms has changed the traditional way of teaching and learning. Now, learners can access courses from anywhere in the world and manage their own learning time. This helps to break down the barriers of space and time, facilitating continuous learning.

Mobile applications help students easily access learning materials, lectures and reference materials. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for learning based on needs and self-study. Teachers themselves must also constantly "transform" and update their knowledge to keep up with the flow of the times. Education must inspire students to self-study, train learners to be autonomous and have knowledge-seeking skills, not the "teacher reads, student copies" style.

How does the digital age affect the education industry, sir?

The digital age has connected students around the world. They can participate in international courses, collaborative projects, exchange knowledge easily, creating a diversity of perspectives and cultures.
