On April 19, news from the People's Committee of Binh Minh Town (Vinh Long) said that the district has directed specialized agencies to verify and clarify the case of 8 students hospitalized after drinking milk tea given by a stranger in front of the school gate.

Previously, on April 17, Binh Minh Town Medical Center received information about a food safety incident that occurred at My Hoa C Primary School (My Hoa Commune, Binh Minh Town, Vinh Long).

According to the verification results of My Hoa Commune Health Station and My Hoa C Primary School and the homeroom teacher of class 2/1, on the morning of April 17, two strangers stood in front of the school gate and gave student NMT (class 2/1) a plastic bag containing plastic bottles of milk tea, the quantity is unknown.

Then, T. brought it to his classmates to drink (class 2/1 has 39 students). Many students in the class shared the drink, some drank a little, some drank a lot. At around 9 o'clock the same day, 8 students had symptoms of headache, stomachache, nausea and were taken by the school to Binh Minh Town Medical Center for treatment.

After being hospitalized, the children were diagnosed with digestive disorders. By the afternoon of April 18, all eight children were in good health and were discharged from the hospital.

From the verification results and based on clinical symptoms, paraclinical results determined that this was a case of digestive disorders and psychological effects on the students.

The case of a student hospitalized after drinking milk tea given by a stranger is being further investigated by the authorities of Binh Minh City.
