Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just had a working trip to inspect the project of building a rigid bridge across Nam Mo River, connecting Huu Lap Commune to Huu Kiem Commune, invested by Ky Son District People's Committee. The project has a total investment of more than 43.9 billion VND.
Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh inspected the construction progress of the rigid bridge across Nam Mo River, connecting Huu Lap commune to Huu Kiem commune.
The project to build a new permanent bridge using reinforced concrete (RC) and prestressed RC with a total length of 146.35m (to the end of the abutment), and a width of 7m. The road at both ends of the bridge is designed according to the technical standards of grade V mountainous roads, with a 6.5m wide roadbed, a 3.5m wide asphalt road surface, and 1m reinforced curb on each side with the same structure as the road surface.
Up to now, the construction unit has completed about 45% of the signed contract volume. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. However, the implementation of the project is facing many difficulties and challenges. Especially when the rainy season comes, the water level of the Nam Mo River rises, making it impossible for the contractor to carry out the construction according to the plan.
After inspecting the actual project, Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh requested the district to direct the construction unit to speed up the project progress and requested the investor to continue to urge the construction units to increase machinery and equipment, take advantage of favorable weather conditions to work overtime and increase shifts to ensure the project's construction progress, and proactively develop a plan to transfer project management level when the district-level activities end.
At the same time, the construction unit is required to develop a natural disaster prevention plan and measures to implement rolling construction to promptly clear the flow when unusual rains and floods occur.
In addition, Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh also requested Ky Son district to focus on urging the disbursement of public investment capital; speed up the construction progress of projects under national target programs in the area; focus on completing settlement records of completed works and projects, and not leave outstanding debts.
The rigid bridge replacing the Xop Nhi suspension bridge (Huu Lap commune) is under construction.
Mr. Vi Van Hoe - Secretary of Ky Son District Party Committee said that the district's investment in building new bridges in Chieu Luu and Huu Lap communes using prestressed concrete to replace the old suspension bridges across the Nam Mo River that have deteriorated is extremely urgent and necessary. After these rigid bridges are completed, they will open up a new direction of development, an important gateway for people in mountainous communes that are currently isolated, difficult, and isolated in terms of transportation.
It is known that Nam Mo River flows through Ky Son border district with a length of nearly 80km. The upstream of Ca River divides 7 communes and towns of Ky Son district including the communes: Chieu Luu, Huu Kiem, Huu Lap, Ta Ca, Muong Tip, Muong Ai and Muong Xen town.
To help people travel and exchange goods conveniently, from 1984 to now, Nghe An province has built 3 suspension bridges across Nam Mo River, in Chieu Luu and Huu Lap communes. These are important traffic junctions of this mountainous border district (according to Resolution 30A of the Government) in connecting from National Highway 7 to the northern communes of the district. However, after more than 30 years of use, the above suspension bridges have seriously degraded, making people and vehicles crossing the bridge unsafe, with potential risks of accidents.
