On (April 3). The Military Command of My Son Commune coordinated with the Engineering Department, the Provincial Military Command and the Military Command of Do Luong District to successfully detonate a 226kg bomb left over from the war.

Previously, the Military Command of My Son Commune, Do Luong District, Nghe An Province received a report from Mr. Dang Cong Loi, Hamlet 5, My Son Commune, that while using an excavator to level the ground to build a house, he discovered a metal object, cylindrical in shape, suspected to be a bomb, lying deep underground about 4m below the ground.
After receiving the information, the Military Command of My Son commune quickly sent forces to the scene, blocked off the area suspected of having a bomb, organized 24/7 vigilance to prevent people and livestock from approaching, and promptly reported to the District People's Committee and the Military Command of Do Luong district for information and direction.
Upon receiving the information, the Military Command of Do Luong District and the Engineering Department - Provincial Military Command verified the information and determined that the object was a bomb left over from the war dropped by the US, a demolition bomb, coded MK-82, 27cm in diameter, 155cm long, weighing about 226kg, with the detonator intact. This bomb has strong destructive power and is dangerous.

My Son Commune - Do Luong District, where Truong Bon fire coordinates are located, was one of the key targets of US imperialism's attacks during the war.
