Siam Sport newspaper commented on the Vietnamese team: "Before entering the 2023 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team ranked 94th in the world with 1235.58 points. However, after losing to Japan and Indonesia, they dropped to 99th in the world.
Coach Troussier's team was deducted 29.69 points, leaving only 1,205.89 points. The day the Vietnamese team says goodbye to the number one position in Southeast Asia is not far away."
The Vietnamese team still has one match left in the 2023 Asian Cup against Iraq on January 24. If they continue to lose in the upcoming match, the "Golden Star Warriors" are at risk of falling out of the world's top 100 for the first time since November 2018.
