Russian news agency Tass reported that Politburo member and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of China, Mr. Chen Wenqing, visited Russia from May 21-28.

Tass quoted a May 20 announcement by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin as saying, "Chen Wenqing will attend the 11th international conference of senior representatives on security issues and hold the 8th meeting of the China-Russia security and law enforcement cooperation mechanism in Russia from May 21-28 at the invitation of the host country."
In a related development on the same day, a well-informed source said that Chinese Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui may visit Moscow next week.
Earlier, China announced that special envoy Li Hui would visit Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany and Russia to participate in negotiations to find a way to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
Mr. Li Hui arrived at the first stop, Ukraine, from May 16-17.
On May 19, spokesman Wang Wenbin also informed about Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to China from May 23-24.
“The cooperative relationship between China and Russia, our largest neighbors and countries with emerging markets, is very strong and has huge potential,” Mr. Wang Wenbin said.
During his visit to Moscow on March 21, President Xi Jinping invited the Russian Prime Minister to visit China as soon as possible to contribute to strengthening the close relations between the two sides.
