The Champions League group stage matches on the morning of October 5 ended without many surprises as the teams that were rated higher all won, except for PSG who was "miserably defeated" by Newcastle United.

In Group E , Atletico Madrid got their first win in the Champions League this season after a dramatic 3-2 win over Feyenoord.
Atletico Madrid let their opponents take the lead twice but still had a successful comeback thanks to the brilliance of Alvaro Morata (double) and Griezmann.
In the remaining match, Pedro scored the decisive goal in the 90+5 minute to help Lazio come back to beat Celtic 2-1.
With this result, Atletico and Lazio are temporarily sharing the top spot with 4 points each, Feyenoord is right behind with 1 point less, while Celtic has no points.
In Group F , a big surprise happened when Newcastle United won 4-1 against Paris Saint-Germain.
Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar took turns scoring to bring victory to the "Magpies".
Meanwhile, the remaining match between Dortmund and AC Milan at Signal Iduna Park ended without any goals being scored.

In Group G , Man City continued to "sow sorrow" for RB Leipzig in the reunion with a 3-1 victory right on the opponent's field, with goals from Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku.
This victory helps the reigning Champions League champion take sole possession of the top spot in Group G with 6 absolute points.
At the same time as this match, the match between Red Star and Young Boys ended in a 2-2 draw.
In Group H , after destroying Royal Antwerp, Barcelona had to struggle to win 1-0 against Porto thanks to the only goal of Ferran Torres.
Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk had an explosive second half when they scored 3 goals in a row and won 3-2 right on Antwerp's field after letting the opponent team lead 2-0 in the first half.
