At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported on the results of the implementation of the tasks in the first 6 months of 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy chaired the meeting.
Accordingly, implementing the working theme for 2024 is "Discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, speeding up creativity, sustainable efficiency" , with the attention and direction of the Party Central Committee, the Secretariat, the Politburo; under the drastic, firm, flexible, practical direction and management of the Government, the Prime Minister, all levels, sectors, and localities, and the support and active participation of all classes of people; the socio-economy in the first months of 2024 has many positive changes and achieved many important results. In which, the fields of culture, sports and tourism continue to achieve positive results in many aspects: Many traditional cultural values and cultural heritages of the nation continue to be inherited, preserved, embellished and developed, attention is paid to allocating State resources and promoting social resources for the cultural field. Mass sports movements are strongly promoted, high-performance sports achieve many positive results. Vietnam tourism witnessed impressive recovery and development in the first months of 2024.
Regarding institutional development, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism focused on directing the implementation and completion of many state management documents on culture, sports and tourism. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism advised and reported to the Government to submit to the National Assembly the draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, authorized by the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government, submitted to the National Assembly a report proposing the investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025-2035; submitted to the Government for promulgation 04 Decrees; the Prime Minister issued 09 Decisions and 01 Directive; the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued under his authority 01 Circular. The Ministry also advised and submitted to the Government and the Prime Minister 04 projects, and is completing 03 projects in the fields of operation of the Industry.
In the field of Culture and Family, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed 02 Circulars; appraised and commented on 63 projects, Technical Economic Reports, and designed construction drawings for the restoration and embellishment of relics. Approved 03 tasks for the planning of the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of relics. Decided to recognize national treasures (phase 12, 2023) for 29 artifacts and groups of artifacts. Prepared a dossier of artifacts proposed for recognition as national treasures, phase 13, 2024. Decided to rank 12 national relics; issued 05 decisions on archaeological exploration and excavation for provinces/cities; included 35 intangible cultural heritages in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritages... "The reliefs on 9 bronze cauldrons in the Hue Imperial Palace" of Vietnam was officially listed in the List of Documentary Heritage of the Asia-Pacific region of UNESCO.
Submit to the Government the draft Law on Advertising (amended). Develop a Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 54/2019/ND-CP regulating the business of karaoke services and discotheque services. Issue Regulation No. 1853/QCPH-BVHTTDL-BLDTBXH dated May 3, 2024 on coordination in implementing family and children's work between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy delivered a congratulatory speech to journalists, reporters, and editors on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The Ministry also organized the 10th "People's Artist" and "Meritorious Artist" title award ceremony and many competitions, festivals, and film weeks to celebrate major national holidays and industry anniversaries.
Physical Education and Sports: The physical education and sports movement took place vigorously from the central to local levels and achieved many results.
With the orientation of focusing on investing in key Olympic sports to participate in the 2024 Olympic qualifying round, the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand and international sporting events in 2024. Coordinate with localities, federations, and national sports associations to organize national and international sports tournaments in Vietnam and training courses as planned. International competition results in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnamese Sports have competed excellently, winning 57 gold medals, 55 silver medals, and 71 bronze medals. Up to now, Vietnamese Sports has had 12 official tickets to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the following sports: Shooting, Cycling, Swimming, Boxing, Weightlifting, Rowing, Badminton.
In the field of tourism, the Ministry has submitted to the Prime Minister for promulgation Official Dispatch No. 06/CD-TTg dated January 15, 2024 to improve the effectiveness of tourism statistics to evaluate, formulate policies and promote effective and sustainable development of Vietnam's tourism in the coming time; Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time; Decision to complete the State Steering Committee on Tourism; Plan to organize the National Tourism Year 2024 in Dien Bien; Master plan for tourism resource survey; Decision to recognize Moc Chau national tourist area, Son La province. Develop 04 Circulars and the project "Developing community tourism in Vietnam". Coordinate to organize the Opening Ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2024 and the National Scientific Conference "Dien Bien: Promoting potential and advantages for sustainable tourism development". Many regulations and plans were issued.
In particular, in the first 5 months of 2024, the number of international visitors is estimated at 7.58 million, an increase of 65% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists are estimated at 52.5 million. Total revenue from tourism in the first 5 months of 2024 is estimated at 352.2 trillion VND.

In the third quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to direct the implementation of the Action Program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to implement Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 5, 2024 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan and State Budget Estimates for 2024 and Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 5, 2024 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness in 2024.
Continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively organize the implementation of 06 groups of tasks and 04 groups of solutions to build, preserve and promote the unique values of advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, as directed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 2021 National Cultural Conference and the Cultural Development Strategy to 2030; Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW dated June 4, 2020 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW on "building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development", with the motto "Accelerate, innovate, reach the finish line" , actively contributing to the completion of socio-economic development goals and tasks in 2024.

The Ministry is also preparing for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics; continuing to prepare forces to participate in the Paralympic qualifying round in France, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG6) in Thailand and international sports tournaments in 2024.
Organize the implementation of Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 of the Prime Minister on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time; Organize the award ceremony of Vietnam Tourism Awards 2024. Improve the effectiveness of communication work on culture, sports and tourism
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy sent congratulations to journalists, reporters and editors on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The Deputy Minister also thanked the press agencies for their support and attention to the culture, sports and tourism sector in the past time. The Deputy Minister also expressed his sympathy with the press agencies in the context of digital technology development, the revolutionary press agencies of Vietnam are facing opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges when having to compete with new media. The Deputy Minister hopes that the leadership team of press agencies, journalists, reporters, and editors will continue to be imbued with the guiding viewpoints of the Party and State, keep a bright pen, a pure heart, contributing to effectively propagating the policies of the Party and State, as well as the activities of the culture, sports and tourism sector.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that in 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to improve the institutions and policies for state management of culture, sports and tourism, and the Ministry's leaders will focus on directing and mobilizing resources and investing with key priorities, especially paying attention to the grassroots and aiming at the grassroots. Therefore, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that press agencies will continue to accompany the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in propaganda work, especially policy communication.
