Nami Receives $10 Million Investment from Clime Capital for Energy Solutions

Clime Capital has just announced an investment of approximately US$10 million from the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II) in Nami Distributed Energy to promote the provision of innovative distributed energy solutions.

Clime Capital is a Singapore-based fund management company dedicated to accelerating the transition to low-carbon energy and is managing the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II).

The investment is aimed at accelerating Nami, a clean energy company based in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi that provides innovative distributed energy solutions, to grow rapidly and increase positive impact for businesses in Vietnam.

This investment comes as the Vietnamese Government has just issued Decree 80/2024/ND-CP regulating the direct power purchase mechanism between renewable energy generators and large electricity users (DPPA), which will bring great opportunities for businesses to access renewable energy at cost-effective prices, in both distributed power using direct lines and grid-connected renewable power.

With this investment, Nami is well positioned to leverage its strong foundation of human resources, expertise and potential project portfolio to provide rooftop solar and on-site energy solutions on a larger scale to commercial and industrial customers nationwide.

Nami Distributed Energy is a member of Nami Energy, founded by domestic investors with many years of experience in the Vietnamese energy industry. The company's solar and on-site energy solutions such as battery storage and energy saving help businesses access lower-cost and sustainable electricity without capital investment and operating costs. The company is rapidly expanding its potential project portfolio with major customers and deploying installations nationwide.

Mr. Luu Hoang Ha, Chairman of Nami, expressed his joy in accompanying Clime Capital to bring the benefits of distributed energy to more businesses, helping them achieve their goals of carbon reduction and sustainable development.

“Clime Capital’s decision to invest in Nami demonstrates its confidence in our team, operations and corporate governance – key elements of our green business mission. This investment and our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects position Nami perfectly for the next round of funding and continued growth. We look forward to working with Clime Capital and our partners to create even more positive impacts for our customers and the environment,” said Mr. Hoang Ha.

Mr. Joshua Kramer, Investment Director of Clime Capital said, SEACEF II's investment in Nami demonstrates our commitment to supporting pioneering clean energy companies with the potential to create disruptive change in the market.

“This important investment creates a dual benefit of developing a competitive renewable energy infrastructure while accelerating Vietnam’s journey to carbon neutrality by 2050,” said Mason Wallick, Managing Director of Clime Capital.
