In 2023, the DDCI competitiveness of the Department of Transport increased by 6 points.

On January 17, the Department of Transport held a conference to review the results of the implementation of tasks in 2023 and deploy key directions and tasks in 2024. Attending and directing the conference was comrade Nguyen Cao Son, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Implementing the working theme of the year "Maintaining discipline, enhancing responsibility, innovation, creativity, and real efficiency" of the Provincial Party Committee, closely following the leadership of the Ministry, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, in 2023, the Department of Transport has united, innovated its direction and management methods, and resolutely implemented tasks from the beginning of the year and achieved outstanding results. The Department has actively coordinated with the Department of Planning and Investment, relevant departments, branches, and localities to complete the traffic planning in the provincial planning, thereby contributing to expanding the space for socio-economic development.

Completed the preparation and approval of pre-feasibility study reports for 2 projects: Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway, East - West route phase 1; established investment policies for 55 new projects; performed the role of Investor for 7 projects, of which the Cao Bo - Mai Son Expressway project was officially accepted by the State Acceptance Council; appraised 32 specialized project dossiers with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND.

The Department has completed 100% of the assigned public investment disbursement plan. Transportation activities are basically stable and developing, well meeting the travel needs of the people.

In particular, according to the DDCI competitiveness assessment results in 2023, the Department of Transport achieved 77.04 points, an increase of 6 points compared to 2022, ranking 6th out of 23 departments, branches and sectors of the province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Cao Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the efforts and results achieved by the Department of Transport in 2023. However, in the face of new requirements and contexts, with the motto that transport must go first and pave the way, creating conditions for rapid breakthroughs in the process of building a synchronous infrastructure of the province, the Department needs to proactively coordinate with relevant sectors and localities to advise and propose to include in the planning important routes that connect regions and areas... Effectively implement the emulation movement "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure and practicing thrift and combating waste" launched by the Prime Minister. In addition, there needs to be breakthrough solutions to make State management of transport more substantive. Manage the quality of construction of traffic works in accordance with procedures, standards and legal regulations. Focus on advising, directing, and promptly grasping, coordinating, and removing difficulties and obstacles of construction units to ensure the progress and quality of projects.

Ensure smooth, healthy, safe, convenient transportation operations, serving people and businesses in a timely manner. Strengthen inspection and supervision to improve the quality of motor vehicle registration, training, testing and issuing of driving licenses. Have solutions to gradually control and reduce traffic accidents.
