The 2024 Muong Ang District Ethnic Culture, Sports and Cuisine Festival will take place over 2 days (March 19-20) on a larger scale than previous events. The festival will feature displays and introductions of OCOP products and local specialties; competitions and introductions of ethnic cuisine and thang co; a culinary festival, where people will be served thang co for free. Artists will participate in performing Mong panpipe dancing, singing folk songs of the Mong, Thai, and Kho Mu ethnic groups... Sports activities include: Con throwing, tug of war, banh giay pounding competition, stick pushing, and tu lu.
Especially at this year's Festival, there are activities organized for the first time such as: Street cultural performances, walking on the bridge at the lake regulating Muong Ang town, screening of documentary films about the Dien Bien Phu campaign, Photo exhibition on the Dien Bien Phu campaign and the socio-economic development achievements of Muong Ang district through the periods...
The Cultural, Sports and Cuisine Festival of Muong Ang District aims to preserve, promote and honor the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the area; educate the tradition of patriotism and national pride; consolidate and strengthen the great national unity. At the same time, it is a bridge for exchanges, meetings and experience sharing between artisans, actors and athletes from communes and towns in the district. Thereby promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
