Attending the opening ceremony of the tournament were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An; Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station and related units, departments and branches.
The 1st Nghe An Television Pickleball Cup - Sao Vang Beer Tournament - 2025 is jointly organized by Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism , and Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
This is a provincial-level sports event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
The tournament brings together nearly 400 athletes from more than 60 clubs competing in 6 events from March 28-30, 2025.
The tournament is open to athletes with permanent residence in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces or who are studying, working at agencies, units, or living at clubs and Pickleball courts in Nghe An province.
There are 2 age groups participating in the tournament: Age group 1 from 16-40 years old; Age group 2 from 41 years old and above. The competition contents include: Men's doubles, Women's doubles (2 age groups); Pro men's doubles and Mixed doubles (no age group distinction). To ensure professionalism, players registering to compete in the Pro men's doubles must have a score of 2.5 or higher in forums, groups, clubs, tournaments organized or announced in Vietnam.
Pickleball is a new sport, combining the techniques of table tennis, badminton and tennis, but with a more suitable level of movement for all ages. Through the tournament, it aims to enhance exchanges and connections, create a healthy playground for the physical education and sports movement, and contribute to continuing to effectively implement the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" among the people. This is also an opportunity for athletes and those who are passionate about the sport of Pickleball to learn and accumulate more techniques and competition experience.
One of the outstanding activities of the tournament is mobilizing social resources to help people in difficult circumstances and carry out social security work in the area.
At the Opening Ceremony, the Tournament Organizing Committee provided financial support to build charity houses for 4 families in difficult circumstances in Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son and Nghia Dan districts. Each house is worth 60 million VND.
Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, the matches took place excitingly and dramatically at Vinh City Pickleball High School Cluster and were livestreamed on the Nghe An Television Fanpage, Nghe An TV YouTube Channel, and NTVgo app.
