If you want to work for an American or Japanese company, what major should you study?

I am confused about what major to study so that I can work for Japanese or American companies in the future.

I heard many people say that I should study Software Engineering first and then just need to learn linear algebra to be able to do AI (Artificial Intelligence). But I am still really confused. In these two majors, which programming language should I start with?

My strengths are English and Math. I plan to go to FPT University. My goal after graduation is to work for foreign companies like Japan or the US because I am confident in my foreign language skills. I hope everyone can give me some advice.
