The list of Japanese officials banned from entering Russia includes Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi, Ambassador to Ukraine Nakagome Masashi and former Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Hara Shohei and head of the JICA office in Ukraine Matsunaga Hideki.
According to reports, heads of several Japanese companies were also banned from entering Russia, including IHI Corporation President Ide Hiroshi, ISUZU Motors CEO Minami Shinsuke, Prodrone President Toya Shunsuke and Cyberdyne Sankai CEO Yoshiyuki.
"As part of the response to the sanctions imposed by the Japanese authorities against our country in connection with the special military operation, we have decided to impose an indefinite ban on entry to the Russian Federation of certain individuals," the statement on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website said.
Currently, Japan has not commented on Russia's move.
