Moldova tightens security ahead of European Political Community summit

Moldovan authorities will close their airspace to flights from 00:00 on May 31 to 07:00 on June 2. This measure is being taken because Moldova will host the European Political Community Summit.

The press office of the Government of Moldova stated that flight operations of any flying devices are prohibited, including drones.

According to the office, thorough checks of passengers are carried out at Chisinau airport. A parking lot for official delegations has been set up on the central square of the capital, where rallies and demonstrations are often held. The city also carries out checks on the roads, and citizens are ordered to carry identification documents.

This is the second summit of the European Political Community. The first summit was held in the Czech Republic last October.
