In the current development stage, the issue of linkage to develop tourism has become a vital requirement.
The number of more than 1.5 million visitors to Thanh Hoa during the past 5 holidays, an increase of 27.3% compared to the same holiday period in 2023, can be seen as a vivid proof of the connection in tourism development.
The connection here is not only between the tourism industry of this province and that province or between tourism businesses, but also between tourist destinations within the province.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, in addition to the beach resorts and tourist areas that are prioritized by many visitors and therefore receive a large number of visitors, many relics and scenic spots in the province also had a sudden increase in the number of visitors. Of which, Ho Dynasty Citadel welcomed 11,700 visitors; Lam Kinh welcomed 9,200 visitors; Ben En National Park welcomed 3,400 visitors... If there were no tour links and destination connections, it is unlikely that the relics and scenic spots would have had such a large number of visitors.
Identifying linkage as the key to opening the door for tourism development, immediately after tourism activities returned to the "new normal" phase, Thanh Hoa tourism industry proactively opened the door, embarked on a methodical and long-term development strategy. Thanh Hoa province has welcomed many famtrip delegations and press agencies across the country to survey and connect tourism development to continuously promote the image of "Four Seasons of Fragrance" of Thanh tourism to bring it closer to tourists. In particular, marking this vision and aspiration is the Conference on linkage, cooperation in tourism development, tour connection, routes between Thanh Hoa province and other provinces and cities organized by the Provincial People's Committee in mid-June 2023. Then, in August 2023, Thanh Hoa province successfully organized the Conference on tourism cooperation between Thanh Hoa province and Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces, leading to the signing of a memorandum of understanding on tourism development cooperation between the Thanh Hoa Provincial Tourism Association and the Tourism Association of Southeast provinces and cities.
In the first quarter of 2024, Thanh Hoa province continued to organize many survey teams and coordinate to organize many tourism connection conferences in many provinces and cities in the country. Most recently, after the success of the Tourism Promotion and Advertising Conference with the theme "One Journey - Many Experiences" between Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province organized a Conference to promote and connect Thanh Hoa tourism with provinces and cities in the extended Red River Delta. This is a large-scale conference, targeting a potential tourism market.
Gone are the days when tourism developed alone and each person did their own thing; tourism business mainly relied on resources. In the tourism development orientation, Thanh Hoa province has a very clear viewpoint, that is, tourism resources play a fundamental role, and tourism practices will play a decisive role. Tourism must constantly innovate instead of relying on resources and sitting in one place like "waiting for the fruit to fall". That philosophy is very correct, proven by specific numbers and is very enjoyable.
