Bac Kan held a meeting to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the province's founding.

On the afternoon of April 8, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Kan province solemnly organized a meeting to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the province's founding (April 11, 1900 - April 11, 2025). Attending the meeting were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches; leaders and former leaders of Bac Kan province; and representatives of all walks of life in the province.

Comrade Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Viet Hung and delegates attended the meeting.

At the meeting, comrade Hoang Duy Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Kan province, reviewed the revolutionary tradition and development stages of the province over the past 125 years. As one of the most difficult provinces in the country, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Bac Kan province have gradually risen to develop and achieved remarkable results. The socio-economy has made a breakthrough, the average GRDP growth rate of the province in the period of 1997-2024 reached 7.6%/year (the first quarter of 2025 reached about 8%).

Comrade Secretary of Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee Hoang Duy Chinh spoke at the meeting.

The Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee said that after 28 years of re-establishment, the province's economic scale has increased nearly 52 times; the poverty rate has decreased to below 20% according to the new criteria. By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 32 communes and 74 villages meeting new rural standards, 4 communes meeting advanced new rural standards.

Industry has developed, the transportation system has been expanded, upgraded and newly built. The fields of agriculture, education, health, culture - information have improved a lot, national defense - security in the area has been maintained...

On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the First Class Labor Medal to Bac Kan province. This is a noble award of the Party and State in recognition of the contributions and comprehensive efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Bac Kan province.
