According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (November 23), in the North there is a strong cold air mass moving south.
It is forecasted that around the evening and night of November 25, this cold air mass will affect the northeastern provinces, then the North Central, Northwest and Central Central regions. The northeast wind inland is strong at level 3-4, coastal areas at level 4-5.
From November 26, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, and the mountainous areas will be freezing. In particular, from the night of November 26, the weather in these areas will turn cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.
"The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North and North Central regions is generally from 16-18 degrees, in mountainous areas 12-14 degrees, and in high mountainous areas below 10 degrees," the meteorological agency informed.
As for Hanoi weather, on the evening and night of November 25, there will be scattered rain. On November 26, the weather will turn cold, and from the night it will turn cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 17-19 degrees.
The meteorological agency also noted that due to the influence of cold air, from the evening and night of November 25 to the morning of November 26, there will be scattered rain in the Northeast. From early morning of November 26, there will be rain, showers, locally heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms in the North and Central Central regions.
In addition, the weather forecast at sea, from the evening and night of November 25, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will strengthen to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; the sea will be rough; waves will be 2-3.5m high. From the afternoon of November 26, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have strong Northeast wind at level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea; waves will be 2-4m high.
From early morning of November 26, in the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago), strong northeast wind level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; rough sea; waves from 3-5m high.
In recent days, the North has been continuously receiving increasing cold air waves. Typically, early this morning (November 23), the temperature on the top of Fansipan (Lao Cai province) dropped below 0 degrees and by 5am, ice and snow began to form on wooden floors and trees at the top of the mountain. By around 8am, the sky cleared and the ice melted. It is forecasted that in the coming days, in Lao Cai, the cold air will increase, the temperature will drop sharply, and ice and snow will likely continue to appear.
Central region still has heavy rain
Today (November 23), in the area from Quang Tri to Phu Yen, there continues to be moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that from this evening to tomorrow morning (November 24), the area from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall from 30-70mm, locally over 140mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (>100mm/6 hours). From tomorrow afternoon, heavy rain will gradually decrease.

Localized heavy rains can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect boating and other activities.

Weather forecast for the next 10 days (November 20-29), the North will maintain sunny days, no rain at night, cold nights and mornings, then the temperature will increase before receiving strong cold air at the end of the month. The Central region will have localized heavy rain.
