The Information Security Department recommends not to be hasty in trusting; always check carefully before participating in any contest that is said to be from the Ministry of Education and Training.


According to the Department of Information Security, recently, many Facebook pages have continued to impersonate the Ministry of Education and Training to announce competitions. Specifically, a Facebook page posted an article calling on parents to let their children participate in the Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition with a prize structure of up to 150 million VND. The page also stated that the winning contestants would receive a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Information Security Department has warned about the impersonation of the Ministry of Education and Training to post information about organizing competitions and cultural and sports events.

Another page posted an article with the content "Responding to the Government's project, gradually making English the second language in schools. The Ministry of Education and Training and the sponsorship fund are implementing a scholarship program to support up to 80% of tuition fees for IELTS courses, English communication...".

Previously, on January 3, the Ministry of Education and Training warned about a fake document with the content "Implementing scholarships for Hanoi University of Science and Technology". This fake document was signed by Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong and stamped with a red seal.

The document states that 5 scholarships will be granted to students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a value of 30,000 USD/student. Regarding the organization of the review, this document requires students to attend a seminar organized by the school and submit their applications directly. The application includes documents such as: asset certification form, financial guarantee; scholarship application; transcript and photocopies of certificates, awards (if any).

Avoid participating in events and promotional programs on social networks.

The Information Security Department recommends that parents and students absolutely do not believe in information that is not authentic. Avoid participating in events, groups, and programs posted by unknown entities that are widely advertised on social networks; do not transfer money without confirming the identity of the subject.

In case you receive a notice requesting payment or providing personal information from a "Ministry of Education and Training official", please check and verify the information with the Ministry of Education and Training's competent authority through public communication channels such as the official website or support phone number.

Parents, students, and pupils can access the official website of the Ministry of Education and Training at www.moet.gov.vn or other reputable information portals to verify information about programs and regulations. Absolutely do not provide personal information, bank accounts, or pay money upon request from unknown sources.
