High School Graduation Exam 2025 has many new points: Candidates should note when registering for the exam

The 2025 High School Graduation Exam will be held simultaneously in provinces and cities nationwide from June 26-27.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced the detailed exam schedule of exam dates and times for candidates and parents to know.

Accordingly, at 2:00 p.m. on June 25, candidates must be present at the examination site to complete examination procedures, correct any errors, and listen to the examination regulations and schedule once more before entering the examination.

On the morning of June 26, candidates will take the Literature exam, lasting 120 minutes; in the afternoon of the same day, they will take the Math exam, lasting 90 minutes.

On June 27, candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will take the Natural Science exam (Chemistry, Biology, Physics), with a duration of 50 minutes for each subject; In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will take the Social Science exam (History, Geography, Civic Education), with a duration of 50 minutes for each subject.

This year's exam, candidates should note to register for the correct subjects according to the general education program they are studying.

Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program will take 2 elective subjects on the morning of June 27, with 50 minutes for each subject.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to guide candidates in registering for the exam.

All candidates (including exempted candidates) must provide their personal information and register for the exams/subjects. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, students can register for the 2025 graduation exam from April 21-28 online.

Place of registration: Candidates who have completed the General Education/Vocational Training Program in the 2024-2025 school year register at the high school where they studied grade 12.

In special cases, candidates can register at a high school in the district, town or city where they reside (according to confirmation of residence from the People's Committee of the commune level) or a high school in the workplace if the candidate is on a business trip and has sufficient grounds to not be able to take the exam at the place of residence or the place of grade 12 study.

Candidates studying under the Continuing Education Program are only allowed to register for the exam at vocational education and continuing education centers. Candidates studying under the General Education Program are only allowed to register for the exam at high schools.

Candidates who have a high school diploma or a secondary school diploma and take the exam to use the results as a basis for admission registration will register at the Department of Education and Training of the district, town or city where the candidate resides.

In addition to registering for the exam, candidates must register for the exam number and subjects.

Candidates taking the exam with the 2018 General Education Program must take the Literature exam, Math exam and 1 optional exam including 2 optional subjects.

Candidates can register to take a foreign language exam other than the foreign language they are studying in high school (can choose one of the following foreign languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean).

Candidates taking the exam with the 2006 General Education Program must take 4 exams, including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences chosen by the candidate;

Candidates studying the Continuing Education Program only have to take 3 exams, including 2 independent exams of Math and Literature and 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences chosen by the candidate, in which the Social Sciences exam only includes the components of History and Geography.

Candidates can register to take an additional Foreign Language exam to use the results as a basis for university and college admissions, not to calculate the score for high school graduation recognition.

Candidates who have a high school diploma or a secondary school diploma can take the exam to use the results as a basis for applying for university or college admission and can choose to take the exam with the exam questions of one of the two programs.

The application for the high school graduation exam includes: Exam registration form; valid certificates to enjoy preferential and incentive regimes (if any); 4x6 photo; citizen identification card, taken no more than 6 months before the application submission date; copy of high school transcript for candidates who have not graduated from high school before 2025; copy of high school diploma for candidates taking the exam to use the results as a basis for university and college admission registration; copy of secondary school diploma, copy of academic record or transcript of high school cultural subjects...
