Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy emphasized the important role of science, technology and innovation (S&I) in the sustainable development of each country. He highly appreciated China's pioneering S&T achievements, especially the role of CAS in building a strategic research system and applying technology into practice.
The Deputy Minister also said that Vietnam is strongly implementing breakthrough policies on science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, as demonstrated in Resolution 57-NQ/TW. In this context, international cooperation, especially with partners with advanced science and technology such as China, plays a key role. Vietnam wishes to expand cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum technology and semiconductors, and learn from China's experience in linking science and technology with socio-economic development.

Vice President Ha Hong Binh affirmed that CAS is China's leading research institution, with a network of more than 100 research institutes, three universities and many national technology centers. CAS has established cooperative relationships with a number of research institutes and universities in Vietnam such as the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and Can Tho University. He emphasized that CAS pays special attention to training technical talents and wishes to expand cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and digital transformation in state administration.
Deputy Minister Bui The Duy welcomed the CAS proposal and affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology will create all conditions for research institutes and universities of the two countries to cooperate effectively. The Deputy Minister expected that the two Academies will soon carry out joint research tasks, especially in developing an artificial intelligence system to support voice translation, helping Vietnamese and Chinese scientists connect more easily.

In addition, the Deputy Minister also proposed promoting cooperation in research and human resource training in important areas such as new energy, environmental protection, disaster prevention, biotechnology in agriculture and medicine, automation technology, quantum technology and semiconductor technology.
The meeting not only strengthened the science and technology cooperation between Vietnam and China but also opened up strategic cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting the common development of the two countries in the digital age./.
