The housing program “Union Shelter” has been widely deployed by the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) in recent years. Along with actively propagating and mobilizing to build funds, the Unions at all levels regularly survey and grasp the living conditions, employment, and housing needs of employees, on that basis, organize appraisals and meetings to promptly provide support, ensuring appropriateness and the right target.

As a case of receiving financial support from the Provincial Federation of Labor to build a house for the "Union Shelter", Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Van - a union member of Xuan Thuy Kindergarten, Yen Lap district, was moved: "I am very grateful to the Union for its attention, creating conditions, material support, and spiritual encouragement to help my family build a new house".

Leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor presented a symbol of financial support for the construction of a "Union Shelter" house to Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Van - a union member of Xuan Thuy Kindergarten, Yen Lap district.

It is known that Ms. Van's husband died in a work accident. Currently, Ms. Van is both a father and a mother, the support of her children, raising 2 children to study, so the life of the mother and her 3 children is very difficult, they are considered a near-poor household; her family has to live in a dilapidated, seriously degraded temporary house. Given the difficult situation of her family, the Provincial Federation of Labor has decided to support her financially so that she has more resources to build a house for the mother and her 3 children.

After 4 months of construction, Ms. Van's family's new house has been completed with a total area of ​​100m2 , flat roof, total construction cost of 296 million VND, of which the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 50 million VND, the rest was helped by relatives and colleagues... The new house helps Ms. Van's family have a stable place to live, overcome difficulties, and improve their lives.

It can be seen that the timely attention and support from the housing program "Union Shelter" has created conditions for union members in difficult circumstances to have the opportunity to repair and build new, more spacious and solid houses; demonstrating the concern, companionship and sharing of the Union organization with workers, and is a source of motivation for union members' families to strive to rise up and build a better and better life.

During the recent Workers' Month, the Provincial Federation of Labor provided financial support for the construction and repair of 11 "Union Shelters" for union members in difficult circumstances and supported the repair of 3 public houses for a number of units in the province with a total amount of more than 900 million VND.

The Provincial Federation of Labor in coordination with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) - Hung Vuong Branch supported 1 "Union Shelter" house for union members in difficult circumstances of the Cam Khe District Federation of Labor with an amount of 70 million VND, contributing to realizing the dream of settling down and having a career of many union members' families in difficult circumstances, creating trust and motivation to help union members and workers feel secure in their work, strive to complete their assigned tasks well.

The Provincial Federation of Labor also donated 100 million VND to support the construction of 2 "Union Shelters" for workers in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien province, demonstrating the concern and support of the Phu Tho Provincial Federation of Labor with the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor in taking care of the lives of union members.

Joining hands to build a “Union Shelter” to help workers in difficult circumstances has become a tradition of the Union. Through the program, the Union has increasingly affirmed its role and position in caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, contributing to the effective implementation of poverty reduction programs and the elimination of dilapidated houses in the province. In order for the program to be increasingly effective, the Provincial Federation of Labor continues to promote propaganda and mobilization to build the Fund, maintain the Fund’s operations effectively, in accordance with regulations so that more and more shelters can be built.
