Recently, Madam Pang, President of Port Club, has run for the position of President of FAT for the new term. Currently, Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung is still holding the position until the new election in February 2024.
According to Madam Pang, Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung had a private conversation and encouraged her to run for the position of president in the new term. “A few days ago, FAT President Somyot Pumpanmuang had a conversation with me. He wanted to retire due to his old age and wanted me to support the new generation and help manage the association. Given what I have done for Thai football, that is why I was asked and encouraged to register to run for the next FAT president position.”
Thailand's female delegation leader, Madam Pang, will run for FAT President for the 2024 term.
Madam Pang said that her candidacy for the FAT presidency in the next term will be protected by the Thai Royal Family.
According to Thai press, two leading figures in Thai football such as Newin Chidchob (Chairman of Buriram United) and Khun Pavin Bhirombkhadi (Chairman of BG Pathum United) also supported Ms. Pang to run for the next term.

Mr. Newin Chidchob expressed his decision: "We decided to support Madam Pang because this will help change Thai football. The current way of doing things and managing is no longer suitable.
I am ready to help and support coach Ishii Masatada as the FAT Technical Director. Mr. Pavin Bhirombkhadi will support in terms of sports science and training facilities. We will also help run the FAT in a transparent manner, bringing Thai football towards the goal of being the top in Asia."
Besides the two prominent names above, Thai press reported that Madam Pang also received many other supports inside and outside the football world of the "land of golden temples".
