On her personal page, singer Lyly spoke out about singing a song by musician Chau Dang Khoa in the program Our Songs - Our Song Vietnam. She said: "In episode 1, I performed the song Huong Dem Bay Xa by musician Chau Dang Khoa and caused some unwanted controversy."

Lyly confirmed that there was no such thing as “singing for free”. She said that the Organizing Committee had followed the correct procedure for using the song through the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC).

The female singer expressed: "This is the song that best suits the musical direction and image I want to appear in Our Song , the theme of renewing old hits. I actively chose, no one forced or drew lots. I love this song, it is associated with my student days and brings many emotions. Professional pride does not allow me to choose this song for any other purpose, only music."

Lyly shared that she has not seen any official and public announcement from the author about not allowing her to use this song. The female singer admitted that she was not skillful in choosing the song, bothering the author as well as the organizers. She also confided that singer Orange had nothing to do with choosing the song, only appearing at the end of the song according to the arrangement of the stage director.

"For me, music is for enjoyment. As a songwriter, I always want my music to be loved, spread and bring spiritual value to everyone," Lyly confided.

Previously, on his personal page, musician Chau Dang Khoa said that Lyly and Orange sang without permission even though he had previously not allowed the two to use any of his works in any form.

Sharing with VietNamNet , a representative of the production unit of Our Songs said that the program has purchased the copyright of the song from the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office. The two sides are currently continuing to work and will soon have a specific announcement about the incident.

Lyly and Orange used to belong to Chau Dang Khoa's company before a disagreement occurred in 2020. In early 2024, Orange and Chau Dang Khoa appeared together on the show Song 24.
