The fire quickly engulfed Hung Phat auto garage, lot F11 - 25, 3/2 street, Vinh Lac ward (Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province), causing many cars to burn down.
According to initial information, at around 9am on December 6, a fire suddenly broke out in the car paint shop area of Hung Phat garage, owned by Mr. PQT (born in 1992). This area contained many chemicals and flammable materials, causing the fire to spread quickly.
Garage staff quickly deployed to put out the fire but it was ineffective. Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Kien Giang Provincial Police) mobilized many fire trucks, a water tanker and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to support.
After about 60 minutes of effort, the fire was controlled, preventing it from spreading to surrounding houses.
As a result, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but damaged a Suzuki Wagon (5 seats), a Ford Transit (16 seats), a Mazda 5 seats, along with other spare parts and properties.
According to some employees, the incident may have been caused by an electrical short circuit from the paint shop's exhaust fans.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing property damage.
